We spent the day with Martin this week. Wow! My husband and I enjoyed it immensely. Martin took us to some little known, but wonderful spots! We witnessed salmon swimming upstream at a hatchery, we watched native Americans catching Salmon as big as my torso and we had a fabulous wine tasting experience. Martin brings a passion to his tours and makes your day unforgettable! We loved it.

Martin is one of the sweetest humans you will ever meet! He was very communicative when planning the shuttle services we would need for the event and always got back to me with answers to my many questions, promptly. The day of the event he went above and beyond to ensure all the guests arrived to the location. And he was flexible when it came to the return shuttle time and the amount of trips. If you ever need a shuttle service in the Columbia gorge area, this is your man! He shows great pride in the service he provides, he is patient and kind to all, and he does an amazing job for a one-man show. Would certainly book with him again!

We had a great day touring the gorge... with waterfall stops and short walks for the best viewing! Followed by 2 winery stops in Hood River. Both the Pines 1852 tasting room and the WyEast locations and wines were excellent. Very enjoyable, even though both of us are local PDX'rs... Not having to drive, made this very enjoyable for me too.One of the highlights was the stop at Eagle Creek bridge to see the returning salmon coming up the creek for spawning! Thanks Martin.

My husband and I spent all day yesterday w Martin on a tour to the Washington side (Jacob williams, domaine pouillion and aniche --- they were all very unique and very delicious with great views. Martin was very knowledgable, patient and flexible. We were late to start but he carried on w the tour to ensure we got through all the vineyards on the list. Had a great picnic at domaine pouillion, we were invited to eat w the local group we went with but you could easily bring you own (I believe Martin supplies some too.) Alexis at domaine is an amazing man. Another interesting vineyard is analemma... Hood river is an incredible place w soMuch going on for such a small network. We wish you all the very best and thanks once again :))

My highly eclectic group of 8 had a FABULOUS day out with Martin, doing wine tastings plus scenic stops. Martin added just the right level of information to make the beautiful drive even more interesting, sharing fascinating historical and geological tidbits without the canned patter feeling of some tours. He managed the needs of a group ranging in age from 3 to 79 without missing a beat. His bus was very comfortable and had HUGE windows for admiring the views. He provided water and snacks to help balance the wine. The itinerary was crafted with careful attention to our widely varying needs. We would book with Martin again in a second.

Martin is a great tour guide if you like:-- a tour to be well orchestrated and on time-- the tour guide to be interested making sure you are having a wonderful experience-- the tour guide to be knowledgeable about the Columbia Gorge including wonderful viewpoints and boutique wineries.-- Easy going style, not too intense or too talkative - just the right balance.Portlanders - you already know that the gorge is an amazing place to visit. I'm local too - but when my family from Connecticut came to town - it was so much more fun to be chauffeured about from one winery to the next rather than be the designated driver. Locals - I guarantee that you will have a lot of fun if you partake and the bonus is that Martin knows the best places to go - This was so worth it!

Martin gave a history of the area and pointed out places of interest. Our time was limited but he took us to 2 great wineries. The Pine 1852 and Cathedral...great wines!

Thank you Martin for this incredible tour! Loved the fun ride through the Gorge filled with stunning views and great winery stops. Martin's knowledge makes him a true local naturalist. We had a fantastic time sharing the ride with a lively crowd, learning about the area and sipping on delicious wine at 3 different wineries. We would highly recommend Martin's Tours to any one! Tom

Martin is a super amazing tour guide. He's the guy you want in this area. He knows a lot about the history of the area (we had a nice talk about Lewis and Clark while we were on the road). He knows the cool places that you never knew you want to see. I was an add on to a larger tour and we had plenty of time to take some really awesome photographs, and hike as close as you can to the really great waterfalls. There were some really amazing vistas we got to see, and Martin went out of his way to make the tour interesting and at times really surprising. I was really pleased I got on this tour. For the Gorge tour, we saw the waterfalls and the vistas. But Martin also took us to the fish estuaries, fishing grounds, and Bridge of the Gods. I'd take another tour with him at any point. It was great.

We took a half day winery tour during a recent trip to the Columbia Gorge. Martin visited with us and crafted the tour to meet our tastes and interests. He is very knowledgeable and took care of everything, including recommending a fun local pizza place for dinner. We had a great time and highly recommended Martin’s tours!

Do yourself a favor and take one of Martin's tours. I was up in the Columbia Gorge area for a 3-day meeting and our group scheduled a hike with Martin. It was at the Eagle River/Punchbowl Falls area and Martin was simply amazing. He's super knowledgeable about everything in the area, really professional and he made the hike very enjoyable. He's like you and me except an expert in the local history, foliage, landscapes and best-practices for hiking the Gorge area. I was very impressed and had a great time!

Took a day tour, where Martin created a combination of scenery, historic sites and narrative, then an afternoon of fine wineries. Well worth the price.Comfortable A/c van, lots of drinks, snacks, very accommodating with any requests that make the day a wonderful trip. Would highly recommend his tour service.Larry & Sheila - North Carolina

I was able to get in on a last minute wine tour with Martin as a celebration of my birthday in early May.Martin was extremely professional both during booking and during the tour. His response time to my request was answered promptly with a phone call to talk about my questions. Come tour day, Martin was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the Gorge and the wineries of the area. Martin took us to 3 different small wineries on the Washington side of the Gorge which included Aniche, Cor and Domaine Poullion. All 3 wineries were small, peaceful and very accommodating to our group. The staff was polite and clearly had a good rapport with Martin.Martin was a conscientious, courteous driver and was very good about checking in with us making sure that we were having a good time. He also provided water and snacks for us.The wineries we visited are located near Lyle, WA which is about 10 miles East of Hood River on the Washington side of the Columbia Gorge. The wines from these small vineyards are delicious and dry and certainly worth a stop. The scenery is unbeatable, the weather was fantastic and the wildflowers were just beginning to come out.All in all, I would whole heartedly recommend Martin's Gorge Tours for any type of tour. I know that my group and I will certainly be back!
