One of the best in Washington, I think. I'm attracted to the south end or SE half of the park--it is newer, has a great boat launch and swimming area.

We love this State Park. It is kept up so nicely. Of course, it is in the middle of nowhere, just outside of Winthrop, WA, so it is very quiet. Have stayed here twice in September- 2013 and 2014. It was pretty full each time but even so it was quiet and we love that. Lots of pull through sites for RV's. Not a lot of lakeside sites but for us it was not an issue.

Friendly park rangers and wonderful camp hosts (I am a marine host at one of our islands near Seattle that is a state park).

We stayed here for 2 nights in June 2012 actually, but the date was not available for choice in the trip advisor date selector I didn't know until recently that we could review state parks on here :). Any way, this is a beautiful park and great for families with young children. At the time we visited, my children were 10 and 8. The bathrooms were very clean, there are plenty of paved areas for the kids to ride scooters, bikes, and Rollerblade. There was plenty of wildlife to see also, like chipmunks, mama deer with fawns, birds, etc. There is a little store with many necessities and also really good ice cream. I do recommend an awning or something to sit under during the hotter parts of the day depending on where you get your site. They are not all super shady. The weather is beautiful bc it's Eastern Washington. There is a lot of grass every where, which is the type of campground I prefer. The bathrooms do have quarter operated showers. I love this place and would love to go back.

Pearrygin Lake State Park is truly a gem in the Pacific NW. The park sits 10 minutes outside the town of Winthrop, which will provide groceries, fuel and a great meal, if needed.. The park is lovely with wide expansive lawns and large, gorgeous shade trees. The East Park is the older, more established area and should be your first choice when looking for a site. The rv pads were built years ago when rvs were not so long as they tend to be now. Maneuvering for some can be tricky. We visit in early May or late Sept to beat the heat of summer and to have more peace and quiet after the kids are back in school. If you're an avid birder there are many great birds to see and experience in the park. Wildlife is plenty, it's not uncommon to have deer wander through the park and bed in the grass. There are great hikes in the hills surrounding the park, but be snake savy in the warmer months. Kayaking on the lake brings your closer to the birds and nature and sunsets are always the ultimate treat while on the water. The West Park is a fairly new addition to the state park system and has yet to be fully developed with the amenities of the East Park. Our favorite place in Washington to camp. RV sites fill quickly, reservations 9 mos out are allowed and encouraged.

We stopped over for one night in the east campground. We have a pull camper and stayed in a spot with full hookups. Every single person we talked to was so very friendly!!! The lake is small-ish but nice. We paddleboarded around the lake for about two hours and had a pleasant experience. :-) the cost with the one day discover pass- full hookup spot was $47.00 for the night. A little pricey but still less expensive than a hotel and much more fun!

For a change of pace, go to the lake, it's cooler there, and the water looks very inviting. Enjoyed the little marmots hanging out there, and various birds.

Close to two small towns (Winthrop and Twist) with a variety of shops and restaurants, but very quiet and pristine...no highway or train tracks close by! Wish some small motor boats had been available for rent.

Camped in the private campground but "public" ones looked equally nice. Loved the quiet as no highway nearby, enjoyed watching the ducks and birds. Wished there had been more trees and motorized boats available to rent (row boats. peddle boats and kayaks were available.

I was a little frustrated at first trying to find a ranger when needed because we didnt reserve and needed to move the second night. But it was a clean place with friendly staff and nice people. Very dog friendly. The children 3 and 6 had a blast. We will be going back

I stopped by this campground the Tuesday after Memorial Day. I stopped for a few hours during the day and I loved the solitude and beauty of the place. I can't imagine how packed it must have been for the holiday. Because of its huge capacity, you are camping pretty close to your neighbors.A huge plus of the place was the beautiful view of the mountainside beyond the lake which was visible from most spots. Also a lot of bright open spots, not much shade, which I love for soaking in the rays and avoiding the chill.

Well, I guess there are just a lot of bees in the Winthrop area, but it was particularly annoying at the lake. Park staff was mowing at the time we were there also...so not real peaceful. The water looked a little grungy, but that could have been because of the heavy rain the day before. We were just there for the day...not to camp.

The Park is nearly three miles away from Winthropp town and id is on the banks of Pearrygin Lake. The Park has two camp Grounds which are clean and well served. It is ideal for campers with RVs.We stayed in the Two Cabins there which are equipped with Toilets and a Mini Kitchen. This was a bonus as no camp fires were allowed in the park as Fire Warning was in force. The lake is ideal for water skiing, boating and other water sports. The water is warm for swimming. The children love it.We could see many fishing enthusiasts. The sceneries around the park are pleasant. The camp ground has lush lawns and has a small shop which rents boats and sells icecream and ice.As Winthropp town is near you can always get things there if you miss out something.A quite place to unwind.

We had come eastbound across the North Cascades Highway (State Hwy 20) the previous day, delighting in the breathtaking scenery and taking in a few hikes before settling into a small inn in Winthrop for the night. The next morning, we figured we would go check out Pearrygin Lake State Park because it was only 3 miles out of town, and would provide a place for our little dog to burn off a little energy before the long car ride back to Seattle (via I-90). There are two main sections to this park; we went to the East section.I would describe the setting of this state park as bucolic. The scenery and surroundings are pleasant and nice, but do not have the same breathtaking impact of the Cascades. But that is not a bad thing. "Bucolic but not dramatic" is a good thing . . .lowers the blood pressure, helps one relax. The park affords campers and day visitors ample space to spread out on either grass or beach to enjoy the warm summer sunshine that characterizes the semi-arid climate of the Cascades rain shadow. We did not camp, but we walked through the campground and judged it to be quite nice. The campground could be described as a giant lush green lawn (seemingly well-irrigated); very friendly to tent camping as well as campers and RVs. There are a few shade trees, but individual campsites do not afford the same degree of separation and privacy that you would find in a campground in a more heavily forested area.Anyway, I don't know if I would go too far out of my way to visit this park, but it is very pleasant setting.

We stopped at the eastern campground to fish. There are two docks near the boat launch area. It is a beautiful lake and a very nice campground with clean facilities. We enjoyed fishing from the dock very much
