It's really kind of a PA institution. If you're looking to see the town, you have to go to Hollywood beach and the Pier lookout tower. The Center is located right there so there's no reason not to visit. It's certainly not the Seattle Aquarium but they do have aquariums, an octopus, touch and feel pools, lots of educational stuff and really enthused and informative staff. I've been taking my step-daughter once or twice annually for 12 years now. She always loves it and has a way better understanding of marine biology because of the visits.

The staff (I don't know if they're volunteer or paid or a mix of both) are very knowledgeable about the Elwha Dam project and the animals in their small tide pools. While it's not built up to look like the animals are in a natural tide pool, the animals are plentiful and well irrigated (important to tidal species!). There are 2 tanks that aren't open to touch - one is a huge tank of very large anemone and the other is a larger tank with a very active octopus in it. It's small and not very fancy, the they know their stuff and the science is good. Totally worth a visit!

This was a nice stop in our adventure. The lady that was here today was very informative on all of the Ocean species that they have on exhibit. They even have a touching tank. Being from the Midwest, it was fun to learn about the life cycles of aquatic creatures we never see. They have an octopus in one aquarium, I did not know the females only live for one cycle of laying eggs.

It was a really foggy and rainy & cold day so we had to switch our plan from going to Hurricane Ridge to go here. Our daughter really enjoyed learning marine life; she spent a lot of time at the "Touch" places there. She really liked the octopus. It only cost $4.00/adult and $2.00/child ( I think 5 years old and older.

Not just informative but fun for all. Hands on to some creatures and up and close to others. Staff are ready to assist and give their expertise.

We came across this place while walking by the water, and decided to check it out. The admission was a suggested donation... don't remember what it was exactly, but I remember that it wasn't too expensive. The staff was very knowledgable and happy to speak with you about any questions you had. I wouldn't make a special trip just for here, but if you're in the area, stop on by.

Stopped in at this marine life center at the waterfront. Lots of exhibits where you can touch the marine life -- starfish, etc. Would be very good to excellent for families. Note that in the harbor outside the center, you can often see harbor seals.

Great staff. Very keen to tell us about what they had. Hands on tanks to touch and feel sea life. Pleasant way to pass a few hours

Had some time to kill in Port Angeles so dropped in to experience this non-profit Marine Life Center.Being off-season the center admission by donation. There were a few families with young children enjoying the hand-on tanks. The volunteer docents were very knowledgeable and would answer any and all questions asked about the variety of shore life on exhibit. We had the opportunity to see the resident octopus being fed. Was a great way to spend time and learn about marine biology.

The Feiro Marine Center is located on Port Angeles Pier. It's a kid-friendly, family-friendly place, including "touch tanks" where you can get up close and personal with local fauna. The staff is knowledgeable and kind. The hours vary; open more often in the summer. This is a great place to see creatures you will never see in day-to-day life, and to learn about the area.

Popped in here during my day visit to Port Angeles and was surprised at the hands on tanks! There were 3 or 4 yet the place was empty, not a huge amount to see or do do but we'll worth the small entry fee and a great experience for younger children as they can put their hands into tanks and touch lots of urchins, starfish and sea cucumbers.

This is as close as you can get to the local population of Crustaceans' fish and other local sea dwellers without having to don a Scuba tank. The staff I have noticed are very good with the children whether 5 or 20. good place to see

A small but interesting hands on aquarium located right on the water's edge. Fun place for young and old kids. The sole proprietor was very knowledgeable and welcoming. Had a brief but fun visit.

Went there with some friends, and their two young children. Their children loved the sand table the most! They looked at the fish some and the starfish but more interested in playing with the sand table. Maybe they could offer some more interactive science tables! Even perhaps a water table with fish toys or a fishing game or some sort!

I recently went with my four year old and a friend with her three year old to the marine center. While there were a few tanks where the kids could touch some marine life the fish tanks needed cleaning and there wasn't a lot to look at. There was a small sand table in the middle where both the boys spent most of their time. It is definitely better suited for older (over 9) kids that can read the information, use the tools available for inspection of shells and other marine items, and maybe have a volunteer teach them. I'm just glad we didn't go during peak season and the entry was donation based - I was happy to donate because I think there is potential just not for little ones.
