A great place for families to enjoy the water, frolic in the sun, picnic, play volleyball, or just let the little ones learn to ride bikes or scooters. Nice, even path goes all the way around the little park. Parents can see their kids from anyplace on the grassy lawn. Lifeguards on duty in summer. Dogs are not allowed after Memorial Day.

I ran into the Newcastle beach park while running from the Mercer Slough park along Coal Creek parkway. I hit the Washington lake loop trail and close by was the park. The park is very well maintained, the restrooms are clean, the grass is trimmed and it is a fun place for families and kids. For serious runners/bikers, the park opens out to the Washington loop trail.

This a wonderful family place. It features swings and a play area away from the beach where young visitors can play safely. The beach is close to free parking and quite level. Restroom facilities are handy, as well. Weekends in the summer are very busy, but not now. It is a peaceful place for a walk with beautiful Lake Washington close by.

The Canadian Geese rule! If you don't mind stepping in geese poop with every move forward, then this wouldn't be a bad park. The slides, swings, and the like amuse the young kids, but I spent more time checking my shoes. The low bank beach is nice.

This park is not far from our home. It is right on Lake Washington, has a small beach, swimming area and a nice sized dock. You can rent one of three picnic area's and kids will enjoy the play area or walking loop trail into the woods and along the lake.It has a nice expanse of grass to play in, but when we were there at the end of August the grass and the beach were covered with goose poop, so much so that I wouldn't let my kids play in the sand or swim. Yuck. Dogs are not allowed at this park from early June to September 15th.

Great park for quick bbq with waterfront view. Lacks parking space, which can be annoying during weekends on nice days. Good for picnics but not working out due to its size.

This proved to be a quiet and beautiful setting on Lake Washington with ample picnic space. It's good for families.

This is our beach park. If we want to get away for a quick outside meal by the lake we go to here. Just off I-405 but down the hill and across the old railway line. The beach is clean and the swimming area is sheltered by a jetty and walkway with steps down into the swimming area. There is a pontoon moored in the center of the swimming area and buoys to ensure boats do not encroach. Normally there are lifeguards on duty - just in case. There is a play area for the young kids. The grass area is big enough to allow the older users to kick or throw a ball. If you want to use the cooking facilities make sure you book them in advance. The tables for these are under a roof which offers shade or cover come rain or shine. There are also tables with benches scattered around the park for those who want to sit and eat.The biggest issue is the parking. It has a great area which when full expands to a grassed parking section. When this is full people start to park on the roadway. Parking is both and issue and a blessing. The lack of parking limits the number of users. It is still the place to go and the kids always find friends from school there.

Awesome park and beach area for the family and friends. Parking can be a challenge if you are late. There are plenty of picnic tables and a covered picnic area you can reserve through the city. Flat grassy area to set up volleyball net and a nice playground for the kids. The beach is nice for the kids to play on and there is a restroom by the beach. You can launch kayaks or canoes from the beach area too.

This park has it all - lots of grass to play on, covered picnic areas, open air tables, swimming at a sandy beach, and a dock to walk out and enjoy the lake on.Be aware - the road leading to the park has a 25 mph speed limit and on sunny days, you are likely to find speeding patrols. Come early or you will walk a long ways from your parking spot, or come early afternoon when the toddler set goes home for naps.

This is a nice spot to hangout for a picnic. It has access to the beach where kids can swim and play in the sand. There is plenty of grass and a playground. It is hidden a bit but a nice surprise.

Scenic beach park.....not too crowded which is one of the things that appealed to me.....however the smell here is a turn-off......and too many small insects flying around which might make eating and having a picnic not too ideal .The lake around is very scenic.....good photo ops!But then there are other better beach parks around.

There is something here for every age group, sand and play area for the young, trails for the adventuress and Barbeques's and tables to have a nice picnic. It is right on the shore of Lake Washington so you can go wading or swiming. There is also a 300 ft dock so you can arrive by boat if you wish and a swimmers floating dock off shore. If you're looking to host something and need a sheltered area and barbecue, you can reserve the party room.

Newcastle Beach Park has play structures for the kiddies, picnic tables and large expanses of lawn for families, and a nice little beach for building sandcastles and dipping into Lake Washington. Highly recommended!!!!!! Often there are lifeguards on duty, too.

This park can get crowded in summer, but it's a fine destination any time of the year. Ride your bikes on the Lake Washington trail to avoid parking hassles. In the off-season, dogs are welcome. Be sure to check out the nature trail on the south side of the entry drive. It's somewhat hidden and gives a whole different feel to the natural setting. Our kids learned to ride their 2 wheel bikes on the flat, paved loop walkway in the park. The beach area is clean and safe and there's plenty of room for frisbee or kite flying too.
