This museum was just big enough for children and teens as well as adults to hold their interest. It had a wonderful collection of animal species.

I was so surprised at the size and number of really cool exhibits in the York County Museum. It was like being in a miniature Natural History Museum. Animals of the area, animals of Africa, A naturalist center where you can get hands-on with fossils and other things. A planetarium with three attractions playing in rotation. A nice gift shop, and easy parking

My husband had recently had hip surgery and this was the perfect place to spend a couple of hours. I would think on a hot summer day it would be a great place to take the grandchildren. The African animal display was a pleasant surprise and the taxidermy instruction interesting. We hope to go back when the planetarium is open.

I was totally suprised at the amount of attractions this museum has to offer and now has a planitarium.

This museum isn't very large, but it has some great things to offer. I visited with a group of children who ranged in age from 2 to 9 years old; they all enjoyed it very much, although my seven year old was scared of the planetarium show. We spent most of our visit in the hands-on “naturalist center,” which holds an impressive collection of animal and mineral specimens. The museum staff member was very helpful and supplied a lot of great information about the specimens. We also took a quick walk on the nature trail, which is nice, but rather rugged (i.e. not stroller or flip-flop friendly).

I took several ladies to the museum this summer and everyone really enjoyed it. It is a small museum with nice displays of local animal species, and African animal exhibit. They show so much more than just the animal. There is a Taxidermy display and a room with lots things that you can touch and explore. I loved the planetarium's galaxy show. The Vernon Grant Gallery and tot town museum store and Nature trail.

This is a small museum where mostly African animals are displayed. There are educational programs for local schools so I recommend calling before you go to make sure that there are no schools scheduled for the time you want to go. It can become rather crowded with large classes there. There are displays where children can feel the skin of the animals that they are seeing. A nice small gift shop is located at the entrance. If you pack a lunch, there is an outdoor are where you can eat. Great activity for a hot summer day, for children.

For a "small town" museum, it had a wonderful variety of displays that were well executed and explained

Very dated museum, but what do you expect for a small town. Go on Sundays, it's free. I went once and I felt like I didn't even get my money's worth them. However, children love the place and would have a blast looking at all the taxidermy animals.

We went here last year around the beginning of September, and it was really fun. It's inexpensive to visit, and there were activities that were fun for children and unusual exhibits for adults to see. The people working at the museum were truly nice and added interesting information as we walked around. It's a small place but very nicely done.

We visited last Saturday, just to get my son out of the house. The inside looks so much better than the outside. Nice and cool inside. The admission price was very cheap. I believe it was $5 for adults and $3 for children. Sundays are free. A worker was very friendly when we arrived. She gave us a quick tour letting us know where everything was. The exhibits are most pre historic animals that lived in the area. They also have a planetarium which is very nice. Comfortable seats that leaned back and the film was great and informative. There were only a few people inside which I liked. I noticed that the gift shop was nice, but didn't go inside. Not sure if we'll go back, because there wasn't a whole lot to see. Nice place though.

The museum has several rooms with interesting exhibits similar to what you would see if you walked in the park or on a nature trail. The dioramas are well done as is the taxidermy. Don't plan on the day because the entire museum can be done in less than an hour. There is a planetarium but show times are limited. This will be more interesting with a small child in tow!

We're a family of museum lovers, and we really enjoyed our first visit to our hometown museum. The room where you can touch everything (animal bones, feathers, eggs, etc.) was the coolest part for us by far and we spent the most time in there.

The exhibits I've seen there are good, along with the presentations in the planetarium. Their gift shop is nice and there are occasional events there for the community. Some exhibits have been there for quite a while but for little ones, they are not too bored with the same animals.

This "small town" museum delivers more than one would expect. The African animal exhibit is pretty impressive, as is the science lab. There is presently a special exhibit of Arctic animals. Our grandson liked this place so much that he asked his mom to take him back for his birthday (instead of going to a movie!).
