This is a poor excuse for an aquarium. The exhibits are small, not very interesting; you can see the whole thing in about 15-30 min. The attendants were rude, not just one, but most that I ran into. The fee was ridiculous for four people; would have been better taking everyone out to dinner. The exhibits were dirty, would not want my children touching them. There are much better things to do in the mall and an aquarium just does not fit in this environment.

My 6 and 10yr old had a GREAT time at Sea Life. In fact, my husband and I had a hard time getting them to leave. Granted, it's not a Ripley's or a Georgia Aquarium BUT it's a fun little place with friendly staff, a VERY reasonable gift shop and a really fun play set for the kids at the end of the "dive journey." We LOVE aquariums and usually visit one no matter where we are each year. This aquarium had the biggest Morey Eel and Japanese Crabs I've EVER seen. They had some small Bonnet Head, Black Tip, and Sand sharks. This place is very new to this area. They just celebrated a one year anniversary in February. I hope that this neat little place will thrive despite some of the harsh reviews and will only get better with time. Remember: it's entertainment for the kids.... and not so much about the adults. ;-)

We decided at the last moment to go go for a visit. We are locals, so it wasn't a big deal. We should have purchased tickets online before we went. We would have saved a good bit of money. Once in, (there was a wait), you watch a very short video, Then you are directed to an open room with the start of the aquarium tour. My 3 year old was amazed. The 7 year old was kind of bored until we got to the tunnel with sharks. In my opinion, not as grand as Ripley's brand but it was a fun way to spend a few hours. The behind the scenes tour was included for the day and was also interesting. Can't say it would have been worth it if we had to have paid for it,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback from being a SEA LIFE Charlotte annual pass holder and I am extremely disappointed to hear that you do not feel that you got enough from the passes during your first year.I would like to thank you for the positive comments regarding our exhibits, and our staff. I am happy that our staff members were able to facilitate a strong understanding of conservation during your time with us, and that you and your child were able to gain new knowledge through interacting with our team here. So many of our employees are extremely passionate about what they do, and it is pleasing to hear you were able to pick up on this and hopefully they were able to help you discover something new during every visit.I am also pleased to see that you were able to use the pass many times throughout the year and ensure that you were able to maximize the value of your membership. New passes now are just $60 and so it takes only 3 visits to start getting incredible value for your money. We have also increased the number of Bring-a-Friend days in 2015, now every Sunday pass holders are able to bring as many guests as they like for just $10 each. We hope this will make it as easy as possible for Annual Pass holders to share the attraction with their friends and family. The exhibit change that you mentioned occurs every year, and our eel exhibit has just now been replaced with “Claws”. This new exhibit displays a variety of crustaceans including the feature giant Japanese Spider Crabs. On top of this we are always looking to acquire new animals for our existing displays to add something new, which this last year included a Zebra shark, Brown Banded Bamboo sharks, a shovelnose guitar fish and many other different tropical species. You are right, in that sometimes we do have large school/youth groups here in the attraction, and on some of these higher volume days the attraction can become a little bit more crowded (especially around the play area). Here at SEA LIFE we take the health and safety of our guests and animals as an absolute number one priority. We closely monitor admissions volume on an hourly basis and only pre-book a certain number of guests every 30 minutes to ensure that we never exceed a safe capacity. Education is extremely important for us here at SEA LIFE and entertaining these groups gives us an opportunity to help many more children to discover exciting information about our creatures and learn the importance of conservation. The majority of our large groups come during the morning (10am to 12pm) and by visiting just that little bit later or in the afternoon is a great way to avoid the early morning crowds, admissions is open until 8pm every day except Sunday to provide all guest with the opportunity to visit at quieter times if that is the experience they prefer.Once again, thank you for spending the year with us here at SEA LIFE and I appreciate the feedback from your experience as an Annual Pass holder.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. I am happy that you enjoyed your visit here, especially the Behind the Scenes tour. Hopefully the kids were able to learn some new fun facts about our creatures, and that you also enjoyed some of the other features that on offer such as the hourly educational talks and our daily 2pm feeding demonstration. As you mention we do offer a discounted rate for pre-booking your tickets online, and so we definitely encourage guests to plan in advance to maximize the value of their visit. Every ticket is also an all-day ticket allowing you to return to the attraction as many times as you like, we encourage guests to walk through again later in the day, as there is always something new to discover that may have been missed the first time around.Once again, thank you for visiting and hopefully we will see you again soon.

Thank you for leaving us your thoughts on your recent visit here at SEA LIFE. You are correct in that we are definitely set up to ensure our younger guests get the very most from their experience, with many low level viewing windows and easy to read educational signage. I do feel, however, that SEA LIFE offers something for people of all ages including 7 different shark species, a variety of rays and eels, and now even 2 giant Japanese Spider Crabs. There is also the Behind-the-Scenes portion of the experience, which I am happy to hear you were able to complete, where everyone can enjoy learning about the inner workings of the aquarium and get a bird’s eye view of our large ocean tank. There are plenty of ways to maximize the value of your visit, including an online discount for purchasing a ticket in advance through our website, and the ability to leave and return an unlimited number of times, meaning that no one needs to miss their favorite educational talk or our daily feeding demonstration.Once again, thank you for taking the time to review our attraction, and hopefully we will see you again soon.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback from the recent experience that you had with us. I am very happy that your son enjoyed his time here, especially meeting the Octonauts. It is also good to hear that you were able to take advantage of the great $10 promotion that we were running over our birthday weekend, and that you were able to hear an educational talk and take a Behind-the-Scenes tour.I am sorry that you feel the aquarium was a little too crowded, and we do recommend buying tickets online, especially for weekend visits. It reduces your wait time to get into the attraction significantly and allows you to take advantage of our online discount. The aquarium is also open on weekdays until 9pm (last admission at 8pm), which we hope gives as many guests as possible an opportunity to visit us during quieter times.Once again, thank you for leaving us your feedback.

Thank you very much for your review of the attraction, and I am extremely disappointed to hear your comments with regards to the health and well-being of our animals. Here at SEA LIFE we care deeply about of all of the creatures that we have on display and have a highly qualified animal care team, working alongside a local vet, that ensure we take the best possible care of our creatures. We also have an animal healthcare facility on site so that we may take fish that get sick off exhibit until they fully recover.Of course, we take comments like this very seriously, and yes we did have an octopus who was in senescence, the final stages of her natural life, where many of the symptoms you have described are very common. However, for the last 3 weeks her exhibit has been home to a young octopus with no signs that she is anything other than happy and healthy.Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention, and I would like to assure you that the condition and health of our animals is our highest priority, and we provide them with the best possible care.

Thank you for visiting with us here at SEA LIFE and thank you for your review. I am happy to hear that you were able to take advantage of our discounted tickets by purchasing in advance. It sounds like your son really enjoyed the portions of the exhibits that allow smaller children great views of many of our creatures. Here at SEA LIFE we have 7 different shark species, many types of rays, moray eels and a giant pacific octopus alongside many other tropical fish species. We offer educational talks every hour and a daily feeding demonstration around our most popular exhibits. Every ticket is an all-day ticket, allowing to leave and return to the attraction as many times as they need to in order to experience all of these features and get th most out of their admission.Once again, I am glad your son enjoyed his time with us, and thank your for your thoughts.

Thank you for leaving us your comments on your recent visit with us. I am happy that you experienced our Behind-the-Scenes tour, and hopefully you enjoyed the opportunity to view our sharks from a bird’s eye view as you walked around the top of our large ocean tank. We also encourage guests to maximize the amount of time they spend with us, and allow everyone to return as many times as they like during the day in order to experience everything that we have on offer.Once again, we appreciate your feedback, and hope that we may see you again in the future.
