This is a delightful museum and archive. The displays are interesting and informative - I learned a lot about the area and enjoyed taking to the very knowledgable staff and volunteers. The library that houses the archive would be a comfortable place to curl up with a book on a cold or rainy day.

Disguised as the public library, the section in the back has some wonderful family and Pinehurst artifacts for the history buff. They have the entire history of the building of the resort recorded in files of letters and documents saved by the family. Neat displays!

A great collection of memorabilia of James Walker Tufts and Donald Ross, and many original Ross plans rescued from the local dump after Diamondhead Corp disposed of them.

Took a few minutes to drop by the Tufts Archives on a Saturday morning. The Archives are across the road from the Holly Inn and in the same building as the library. Just go through the library to the back room and that's where the Archives are located. The history of Pinehurst is laid out in many ways, through photos, maps, newspapers, and variety of a displays. We found it fascinating and enlighten. There are volunteers willing to answer any questions you may have.If you looking for a inside activity to do, you could spend a few hours here.

What a gem in the middle of the Village! Pinehurst's history is fascinating, from the invention of the soda fountain, to a health resort, to golf. Sounds like an odd road, doesn't it? It is an interesting journey and worth some time. It's a wonderful, comfortable setting and there is always someone there to fill in the details. There are amazing places for lunch, specifically the Holly Inn Tavern right across the street. Too rainy for golf? Looking for something interesting to do? Spend a little time at Tufts Archives, you won't be disappointed.

If you are a golfer, a fan of golf course design, a fan of Donald Ross or his courses, this is the museum for you. Don't miss the old-style sand "green" outside to see how Pinehurst once was. Audrey is a wealth of knowledge, as are all the volunteers who work there. See how Pinehurst became the "Home of American Golf."

The Tufts Archives, located in the Givens Memorial Library, is a most interesting look at the development of the village of Pinehurst and the resort. It is very worthwhile for any visitor to the Sandhills, including non-golfers.

This was such a treasure to find tucked in the back of the local library. Being a history buff, I loved looking through their rich collection of artifacts from such a special and unique town in America.

This is a great little place to learn the history of Pinehurst and of golf. What is best about it is the helpfulness of the staff. They will take you to find what you are looking for and are also a wealth of information on other things you may want to know about the area. When in Pinehurst, stop in and see what you will learn. Great place to go on a bad weather day.

Somewhat hidden behind the library this is very comprehensive and educational exhibition about the history of golf and the development of Pinehurst as a major golf mecca. Staff is very friendly and eager to help.
