As I live on this course I have first hand knowledge of the care for this course. The greens are usually in very nice condition. The sandt raps have had a complete makeover and are excellent. The fairways are fairly generous. Complaints are that the course does not drain well in wet conditions and the cart paths are in terrrible condition due to tree roots.

Reese Jones did a fine job on one of his early layouts. All of the many traps have been completely renovated and are excellent. The greens ar bent which can have a little problem in July and August but are good the rest of the year. A very respected course where a US Open qualifier has been played. GO PLAY.

I just returned from a "guys" week (16 of us). We arrived over an hour early for our tee-time to be abruptly told by the bag drop staff that we were NOT on the Tee Sheet! Once that issue was resolved we started what we had hoped would be the 1st of 3 days of golf at this property. The course layout was great, unfortunately the condition of this and the other 2 courses is so bad that it over shadows what can clearly be seen as a once great golf property. The greens might have been a "6" on the stimp meter. Greens were weedy, dirt bare and overdressed. There were clumps grass clippings EVERYWHERE. The bag staff were almost cordial, the wait staff in the restaurant were excellent. This course is under new ownership from a second bankruptcy. It has a LONG way to go to regain its reputation of one of the better track in Myrtle. There are a lot better choices for your golf dollar in Myrtle. I think the ship has sailed on this location.

Very rude attendant at bag drop...got the impression he was't happy that we showed up for our 3:25 tee time. Very poor playing conditions on front nine with some improvement on back side. Greens are in extremely poor shape and fairways were not much better. There are plenty of better options within ten to fifteen minutes of Sea Trails.

I have only been playing for a year and found this course very playable. The staff at the bag drop was very nice and personable, the grounds were nicely kept. We had a photo taken of our foursome at the 1st tee, which is a nice momento. There were some challenging holes, but none that gave me too difficult a time. The other three in my party have played for years and enjoyed the course. Play was very slow (we had a 7:20am tee time) as there was a five-some ahead of us. We didn't see a ranger until the 14th, but he kept us abreast of the situation and moved the party ahead along nicely. We finished just after noon.Apparently the course has improved over the last several years. Two in my group had played it before and noticed a positive difference.

We began our golf trip here with an afternoon round. Play was slow - just under 5 hours. As with some other courses in this area, that seems to be the norm which I find unacceptable. The rangers (and the pro) should make make a better effort to speed up play. The course was OK but did not compare to some other courses we played during our trip.

I wintered (11/30/2013 - 4/26/2014) at Sea Trail Golf Links and this year they are under new ownership. He has completed the Bunkers on the Jones Course, both clubhouse parking lots have been repaired. Excellent merchandise is in the pro-shop and great selections and prices. All new carts that are a treat to drive. The cart paths are next I hear to be repaired and also the practice chipping and bunker area is next hopefully. The bad rumors about this course are not true and any golfer looking for a good round of golf should give this place a chance, you will not be sorry!

The staff at Sea Trail treated us like members. Great experience. For a great golf experience, and true southern hospitality give them a try. Donavon

We played this course 2 years ago much to the chargrin of our Golf Package provider. The course was in receivership and well in decent condition had a ways to go, as well as the staff were not very friendly. What a difference 2 years make. We dropped into the course early this week to have a look because the course is out of receivership and sold to a new owner We talked to the new Director of Golf and afterwards booked 2 tee times. Upon arrival this morning the staff was great, making us feel very welcome. While waiting to tee off the Starting Staff were also great. Even though we have had a lot of rain the last couple of days the course played great and am looking forward to our round tomorrow. The bad rumors about this course are not true and it very obvious that they are back on the right track and any golfer looking for a good round of golf should give this place a chance, you will not be sorry!

The new owner of Sea Trail is upgrading the facilities and golf courses. The sand bunkers on the Jones golf course have been revised and repaired, and the course is in excellent condition. The other two Sea Trail courses - Byrd & Maples will still need bunker maintenance, but both are also in excellent condition. According to the pro shop both are planned, as well as new hybrid Bermuda greens on the Maples this summer.

New owner redoing all bunkers and drainage. Course is in great shape with plenty of wildlife. If your game is bad the scenery more than makes up for it. Photographer's delight.

I usually play this courses a couple times a year. It is challenging for all levels. Many women find it too long for their taste. It has a nice selection of challenges with sand, water and distance included in the holes. I highly recommend this course.

We enjoyed a great afternoon of golf at the Jones course for a great price. It was in excellent shape, and the staff were super nice. It has nice wide fairways, beautiful mounds and bunkers, and has water on several holes. It is challenging, but not too difficult for the ordinary golfer either. One of my favorite things about the course was the darling little squirrels that were running around everywhere. We think the Sea Trail courses are top notch!
