I was just overwhelmed by the size of this Ship. You can tour almost every inch of the beautiful ship.My dad was a Navy man in War war II. There was a wedding on the ship the day we visited. There is a large souvenir shop that has Tee Shirts as well as lots of other items of this ship. Anyone visiting Wilmington should take a tour of the USS North Carolina and visualize the men that was on this ship and fought in the war. Just amazing. Its only about 50 miles from North Myrtle Beach. Lots of restaurants close by and little shops across the river on the river overlooking the Ship.

I visit this Battleship 18 years ago. Today after moving back to NC, decide to bring my kids and Dad to see it. They have done few improvements and still looks great. Love the group picture at the beginning of the self tour. No more small stairs to go in the ship. Great improvement .... very clean and well taking care of. Great historic side to visit. Very nice gift shop. We paid $45 with $2 donation for renovations . You don't have to paid the $2 on less you want to. $20 for 3, 6×8 group photos. very nice ....

A large pretty well made tour around the ship, put together by people who really enjoy the history of the ship. It's worth stopping and checking out if you happen to be in the area.

Great experience. our group of 4 did the self guided tour. Route was very well marked with excellent information at each stop.

What can you say, a real battleship you can walk through and check out. Educational to say the least, an eye opener to what the sailors who lived aboard had to endure. A great way to spend few hours. Walking and stairs are necessary.

I went to Wilmington not intending to go to the Battleship, but when I got there the place I was going to visit was closed. So we drove past it and my 6 and 3 year old wanted to go in. I was very uninterested but went anyway. I was so impressed!! It was great!! A little bit of reading, a lot for my young kids to see and it was something that took awhile to walk through. Very entertaining. I plan on going back.

We spent half a day wandering around and exploring the battleship. The volunteers onboard were great and were able to answer just about any question we had. The ship is huge, much bigger than I had imagined, and the self-guided tour is extensive! Wear your comfortable shoes and prepare to spend at least 2-3 hours to see it all (though you could well spend all day there to really take it all in). There's a gift shop, amenities and vending machines available as well for drinks and snacks.

A MUST SEE in Wilmington. Find out what it was like to live and work on a World War II Battleship. Look out for the "sugar free" chewing gum sign!

Great ship, self guided tours that take you through areas that you're interested in and at your own pace. Good gift shop. Well set up ship, with displays on the guns, the bridge, and the working spaces below decks.

If you love history make sure to stop in and see the Battleship in Wilmington NC. I could go back to this ship again and again and never get tired of it. They have a great gift shop as well.

It was a nice tour, at your own pace. Very informative and interesting. Safely takes you though the ship to see the different areas of interest.

I have visited this site since the early 1960s. There is a gift shop and available tours. A fitting memorial for those who gave their lives in WWII including my uncle at the Battle Of the Bulge.

I really enjoyed myself touring through the history of this vessel. It was very informative. I thought it was going to be the same thing as the USS Alabama but it wasn't. It was neat to see the difference between the two.

The battleship is not to be missed - the tour is detailed and extensive; it's the kind of place you could visit more than once and probably learn something new each time. Really top notch for anyone, especially so for those who have or are really interested in military history. One caution - there can be a lot of climbing - you're really going through the ship. But I do believe they have an alternate route through for those who might have trouble with the ladders. Double check that before you go.If you're lucky, you'll see the local alligators near the ship (I didn't, but I know they're there).
