We enjoyed visiting this museum. It had a lot of very interesting military vehicles that are seldom seen in a museum setting. However, the museum suffers from trying to be more than it is. They should focus on military vehicles from WWII, Korean, and Viet Nam Wars which is primarily what they have. Exhibits on antique guns and the Civil War were not well done and did not add much to the experience. Focus on military vehicles, improve lighting, and signs would make this a premier museum.

My 3 year old son and visited and had a blast, Batmobile, Dukes of Hazard, A team, Knight Rider, Monster Trucks, drag and race cars. So much to see. My son loves cars so this was the wing for him.

This began with Washington and Lincoln to Vietnam. The various vehicles together with the personal stories was a great way to show the history of our nation. Enjoyed this exhibit.

This was well done, with many exhibits and historical artifacts. We learned a lot about World War 2 at this museum, its worth visiting if in the Auburn area.

Although the museum had liquidated some of their exhibits earlier in 2013, they still had plenty to see and experience. While all of the exhibits were impressive, I was particularly awed by the one about Civil Air Patrol. I've been a lifelong CAP member, and even I learned some new things!

This museum has a lot of military history exhibits and vehicles that are a must see the only thing they don't have that would make it better is aircraft

A lot if the stuff has been sold off due to hard financial times. What remains is still worth a look. I wouldn't drive out of my way to see it, but if you are already in town go take a look.

Some displays have already been removed after being auctioned off, and about half that are left are marked for sale. What was left was worth the admission price, but I'd recommend calling before traveling any distance to see to confirm it is still open. Rommel's command car was gone for example, but Patton's was still there.

This is truly a hidden gem of a museum and none of the brochures or web sites does it justice. There are military memorabilia including trucks cars tanks uniforms and more not only from US troops from World War II but Germany, Poland, France, England Japan. You could spend an hour or a day, but either way, it is worth a stop.

The other reviews are on target. What a great place to spend some time. If you are ever in the area make time to drop in and spend a couple of hours. Only a few others there when we visited so we had the place to ourselves, but as we were coming in an older gentleman was coming out with his granddaughter (probably around 8) and he was telling her "war stories". What a great way to pass down history first hand - and you can do that quite easily here. Beyond all the vehicles there are so many displays with other artifacts. Really cool to see uniforms on display with a picture of the person whose uniform it really was next to it. Lots of donated items. Don't miss this place.

Any person who is an enthusiast of WW 11 military vehicles, this museum will not disappoint. Nations include American, British, German and French. Vehicles are tanks, tank destoryers, half-tracks, jeeps, armored & command cars, artillery pieces and a number of motorcycles.. Vehicles are from North Africa, Battle of the Bulge and the meeting of U.S. and Russian forces at the River Elbe, April 1945.The museum is well laid out. No crowding of vehicles. Lighting is good for photography. No large crowds. A visitor is able to take their time viewing and reading about each vehicle. Each exhibit has a large information stand.Locating the museum is not difficult. Take exit # 126 off 1-69, south of Auburn. Head west on County Road 11A. Take the second right. A large museum sign will direct a visitor to the museum's parking lot.Admission: Adults-$10.00. Seniors-55 plus-$8.00. Children-7-12- $6.00. Veterans & active military- $4.00. WW 11 veterans with ID- FREE.Admission price includes the Kruse Automotive Carriage Museum in the same building.Hours: 9:00 to 5:00.Jack L., Syracuse, New York.

This place is huge. It has to be for all the military vehicles and items on display. Not only do they have US items, many other items from Germany, Italy, Russia, and items used in North Africa. The major focus is on WWII, however there were other items on display. The museum is working on the displays so it is "in the works". I felt like it was back in time. What a great place for everyone. You could spend as much time as you would like.

This museum is fantastic. My husband and I found it on a trip getting to know the area when we first moved to Fort Wayne, IN. Being a retired Army 1st Sargent, this was right up his alley. Our first trip was a 5 hour visit that felt like walking back in time. This is a must visit location for anyone that in interested in Military History. There are vehicles located in the museum that my husband had never seen in his years in the army, except in pictures. Even the people that are not into the military history scene will enjoy the stories and pictures of a time gone by. A must see for anyone that is passing through the area.We have been back several time and see something different every time!

ThIs musuem is in Auburn, Indiana, but is three miles south (on I-69) of the exit for the Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg Museum and NATMUS, as well as all the restaurants and hotels that have sprung up near those museums. In contrast, there is nothing near the Kruse museum, and there were only a handful of other people around on the Saturday that we visited.Even though the museum sits off by itself and is not well known, if you are going to Auburn or elsewhere in Northern Indiana to check out the other vehicle museums there, you definitely need to stop here too. Just over 10 years ago, a military museum in Belgium went out of business, and Dean Kruse and his foundation bought all 150 vehicles and other artifacts and brought them to Auburn. There is really not much in the way of tanks or tank destroyers, but there is an amazing quantity of trucks, staff cars, motorcycles, amphibious craft, personnel carriers, etc., along with very helpful signs describing those items. In addition, some of the vehicles are displayed in life-size dioramas with uniformed wax soldiers. My wife and I spent around two hours in the military section of the museum, but we could have spent more time than that. However, we had to drive home more than 300 miles after we were done, so we skipped some of the reading. As an added bonus, when you visit the military museum, you also get to visit the other side of the building, which contains an eclectic mix of horse-drawn carriages, classic cars, custom cars, racing cars, monster trucks, and cars made famous from TV and movies. For instance, there is a Batmobile, a Batcycle, General Lee from the Dukes of Hazzard, KITT from Knightrider, and Fonzie's motorcycle from Happy Days. Looking at all of those vehicles took another hour, so you need to give yourself at least 3 hours for a visit to the entire museum.
