A great farmers market with lots of vendors, variety of food, produce and goods. Was impressed with the amount of organic and pesticide free produce.

Lots of fresh, local vegetables, flowers, and baked goods! Many stalls to choose from and a bonus last weekend of a Salsa Contest. One chef demonstrated how to make salsa while other booths had samples of fresh, cooked and specialized salsas. My favorite was a watermelon/beet salsa. This was, I believe, the 26th annual contest with 9 judges and many entries. Watch for it again next year!

This farmer's market is a wonderful experience. Of course there is gorgeous fresh grown produce available, but Bloomington is full of such talented musicians! It is so fun to walk around and listen to the different groups playing. There were also several people selling gorgeous bouquets of fresh flowers. So much nicer than grocery store bouquets!! We can't wait to go back. We had already eaten breakfast before we went, but there are so many food vendors there we will eat there next time!

I came to Bloomington for graduate school in 2002 and moved away in 2005. One of the things I missed MOST about Bloomington was their amazing farmer's market. We moved back in 2009, and my family goes nearly every Saturday during the summers. Good, fresh, inexpensive produce, flowers, and other food products. Don't forget to bring money for fresh popped kettle corn! We always buy each of our kids a $1 bag to snack on while we shop. They also each get a .25 stick of honey. Then after we are done shopping, we let them play in the fountain while we socialize and listen to live music.

Of course they have fresh out of the fields food, but also baked goods, coffee, etc. There is always a band of every genre you can imagine playing throughout the weekly festival. Once a month there are artist and craft booths and regularly dance troops perform. If you visit on a Saturday, this is the place to be.

What a fun place to browse, buy, or people watch. There is local live music, cooking demos, free taste samples, and locally grown meats and veggies. Set in a great location where children can play in fountain ; dogs up for adoption ; and recently art & craft booths. Flowers, fresh herbs, honey, peppers, and best tomatoes. I go often as i can. Always leave with a smile on my face.
