Getting there is half the fun, and this place is on the SE side of a huge lake that has Culver, IN on the NW shore. The course is out in the middle of no where and the country side is a beautiful and scenic 90 minute drive from Fort Wayne along IN Hwy 14. The course is in great condition, and offers up the challenge that Pete Dye is known for in his course design. Don't expect too much for lunch at the course, but a short drive around the lake into Culver produces several first class lunch/dinner options. This course is a gem, both in condition and price. We played immediately after a long morning rain, and because of the sandy soil, it was well drained and not one bit soggy. Will def be back for more.

Loved the layout and the design -- primary components for my rating. All the challenge you want, and a great golf value in a friendly atmosphere. Unique Bloody Mary's are available in the clubhouse that use homemade marianated vodka -- should your thirst for adventure extend beyond the golf.The good news is you can get on the course fairly easily most days including weekends. The bad news is the lack of play has the course in a bit of a "needs some maintenance" mode. The maintenance dollars appear to be directed at the greens, which are true and in good shape, and the grounds in general, which are in fine playing shape generally. The cart paths though are almost too bumpy to be believed -- unpaved and rutted. Expect a rough ride around the track if you rent a cart.
