The casino was disappointing, dirty, and the employees looked tired and unenthusiastic. I smelled like smoke and was depressed after going. I was hoping for a jewel in the midst of manufacturing and it barely lit up the area.

Most of the video poker games have been placed in the basement (which they call the first floor) where the air quality is abysmal (and I smoke) and the cell phone reception, poor. You cannot walk down an aisle without someone bumping into you as you try to play. In addition, they have placed the loudest slot machines on Earth right next to them. They claim that they will be changing this situation but so far, nothing has been done. The hotel, on the other hand, is fantastic. The bathrooms are impressive as the (large) tub and shower are separate, and the toilet facilities are separate as well. The beds are comfortable and TV viewing is decent. Room service is not available so you might want to bring your own food in as there are refrigerators in the rooms and microwaves in the snack areas on each floor.

Pinnacle's acquisition of ameristar has been nothing but GREED! I've been a member for 4 years. They have stripped everyone of their comps that have been earned, no more comps on rooms, the seafood buffet is horrible, the slot machines DO NOT PAY OFF ANYMORE!!! If you get a bonus, don't expect the machine to pay you. Many of the workers I had become to know there have quit. The customer morale is at an all time low! Everyone is so pissed off at how they are have robbed people who would come and play 3 and 4 times a week! Last night I threw my players card in the garbage and will not go back there again! Stay away from all Pinnacle-owned casinos!!

This has got to be one of the worst casino in the world now...weeks & weeks of losing $500, $600, $900, over $1,000 just week after week after week, month after month a person can just lose like that, somethings wrong...I have played over 10 to 12 hours or more straight & couldn't get a jackpot, couldn't get my money back, nothing. It's obvious that they are doing something to make sure I don't win anything. Slots are so tight, they make sure certain ppl player cards are set to lose their money...I'm a regular each week, don't really ever go to any other casinos & every time ameristar takes all this money from me. You would think At some point you would win a nice $10,000, $20,000 jackpot by now, but No all they doing is taking...I give up on ameristar I'm broke now anyway cause week after week they took hundreds & thousands from me.

Roulette is roulette, we like the game...other casino's we've visited the dealers were friendly, cracked jokes, made you want to sit awhile, even if your numbers aren't hitting. There are a couple nice dealers, but a couple that seem angry they are there. I believe if you're doing a job in the people industry, be people friendly...the standout by far is the man that always says, "Have I paid you yet?" when he knows he hasn't...his smile is infectious and in return, you want to stay at his table...which is the goal of a casino-is it not???

Ameristar used to have some class. Food awesome but quality has taken a turn for the worse. Crab legs are water logged, it tears and it drips. Crab should be steamed so it cracks in half then pulls out in one piece. The Other Food Is At Best Less Than Room temperature. Save your $27 and enjoy Hollywood Joliet or four winds for great food for $35. Also the ventilation is horrible enjoy walking through a filthy cloud of cigarette smoke as your eyes burn. Indiana is a smoke free state but proves tax revenue is more important than people's and employees health.

I enjoyed attending the buffet. I even liked gambling for a few minutes. Last but not least, I enjoyed the stay in the hotel room. The rooms are huge and very clean. Everything was perfection, to me....I really liked the fact that the rooms, had a shower, and a bathtub. Would definitely recommend to friends and family!!

What is changing at Ameristar? After witnessing over 5 incidents of threatening and verbal attacks along with 1 assault by players in the last 12 months, everyone's safety is at risk. Unfortunately, we no longer feel your establishment is safe. There should be a NO TOLERANCE policy for threats or physical altercations. The individual should be immediately escorted off the property and/or prosecuted. I was not involved in the incident tonight but witnessed it and it was a disgrace. One of your female employees witnessed the incident and the THREAT and did not inform security when they arrived. I don't care if security was doing his "due diligence" or not, my safety and the other players safety were at risk. Why can't the floor employees, security and management enforce the policies with ALL players? Why do some players use two machines or save their machines? Is there any type of policy for that? It seems to me like the floor employees are intimidated by some of the players. Does Ameristar have any plans to make it a SAFE and fun environment? Do you care about the safety of the players?+

Great selection of machines, free soda, and the payouts seem reasonable. A lot of play time for your $.

Scummiest casino I have ever been to. Don't even think about playing their slots. They have them set to pay out nothing at all. Very boring and a complete waste of time and MONEY. Don't give these greedy crooks a dime of your money. They deserve nothing- but a slow, painful death.

This casino was very smoky. They need a better exhaust system to filter the smoke. I am not a fan of the slots with the card pictures. A K Q J etc., It was extremely had to find any slots that were not pictures. I went on a Tuesday which was a give away day and it seemed that the slots were turned way down. There are several floors so if this is your first time you have to go exploring. I will go back because I stay in the attached hotel for business but this is not on my list of top 10 casinos. Maybe if I would have hit a little it would have been a better trip.

Ive posted about the hotel so this time we had a chance to eat a late night meal in the bar upstairs. I highly recommend the dual prime rib sandwiches. They are excellent. Also had the spinach artichoke dip

Was expecting a better experience. started off with poorly marked directions. Had a full tour of neigboring arcelor mittals smelly plant before finding the casino. Very cramped up tables $10 minimums on blackjack, $ 10 on craps with tight slots. Suggest going to horseshoe for a better cleaner experience, skip majestic as well.

The hotel was fantastic, the room was clean and spacious. Rate during the week was very reasonable. Food at buffet was excellent. I had no complaints. Was one of the best birthdays. Casino is good.

The gambling could be better, but the food is great. The hotel rooms are very modern and pretty, I've had less pretty rooms in Vegas. I also like the way they give rewards better than it used to be. Their give a-ways aren't as shabby as other casinos in area. As a whole I will return and play again.
