Golf at course 9/27,after research picked this course for my Indiana state. Was not disappointed. Course was in perfect condition. Very memorable, excellent layout great risk/reward, greens very fast and challenging. Great pro shop, great bar area. Worth driving 3 hours to play. Price affordable for top quality course, No regrets.

My wife and I don't live in Indiana, but we frequently visit our daughter there, and Purgatory has become our favorite golf course in that area, or anywhere else, for that matter. The course is challenging but very player-friendly, as it offers 6 different tees that accommodate all skill levels. As a senior who can still hit the ball a decent distance, I often feel "stuck" between the white tees and the senior tees---the senior tees are too short to be challenging, but some of the long par 4s are unreachable from the white. Purgatory actually has a hybrid card that guides me to a hole-by-hole choice of tees that perfectly suits my game. The course is interesting. Every hole is different, and when you finish you don't feel like all of the holes blur together in your memory. Conditions were very good for early spring. Our cart had a touchscreen course map that enabled us to determine exact distances to any point on each hole, a very useful tool for anyone not totally familiar with the course. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful.I highly recommend Purgatory for an enjoyable golfing experience.

Play from the 'purgatory' tees and it is very long and challenging. Stay in the fairway or you will be in trouble. Lots of fun to play here.

This is a great golf course, a real challenge, but with many tee box choices it can be set up for all levels of players. But it is tough, links style, that requires all the golf shots. Really nice clubhouse.

If you want to hit the links and have them hit you back, Purgatory is the place you've been looking for. With mounds and sand traps all about, this course will give you a run for your money. It also features a beautiful clubhouse which is widely known for hosting weddings and other important celebrations in its very scenic atmosphere.

By far the best. Love the course, Absolutely love the Clubhouse. Staff is top of the line. My Marriott sends alot of guest to this establishment, and ALWAYS receive nothing but the best in comments.

well maintained golf course with 200+ sand traps... you have to hit the ball straight... but a lot of fun to play....

This course is designed for serious golfers. There are plenty of water, traps, hills and other obstacles to keep it interesting.

After hearing such good things about this golf course, I was floored by how my friends and I were treated when we decided to head over for a round. My friends and I hit off the 1st tee on a day when it was 95 degrees outside and not another golfer in sight. As we approached the 1st green the Golf Pro on duty that day, Jon Stutz, drove up in a golf cart and started screaming at us for playing too slow. Granted none of us are great golfers, but we have golfed dozens of times on multiple courses and have never been asked to speed up our play. I was also amazed how Jon could have properly gauged our rate of play before we completed a single hole. Even more shocking is that when we attempted to reason with Jon, his next statement was "If you don't pick it up, I'm calling the cops and will have you removed from the course"!!! Anyway, this could be a much longer story, but in the spirit of keeping this review short, just know that you are not likely to be treated well at this course. There are plenty of other great courses in the area...so steer clear of Purgatory!
