Certainly a must see kind of place if one visits Indianapolis (Indiana). There is a restaurant inside on the main floor. Plenty of flashy-lighted machines to choose from - from a non-casino patronizer's standpoint. Didn't actually play at this casino, but it was nice to watch others play, however. There is a bar with live music playing in the center of the main floor. Nice seating place for people watching. Apparently one must be 21 to enter. There are areas for smokers to play inside also. There is the option to have one's vehicle parked by concierge folks. When time came to retrieve the vehicle, the wait time was rather brief, around 5 minutes.

This casino is very smokey! We had fun and they do have a small non smoking area. They don't have live dealers for black jack, craps and roulette. Very expensive drinks! We saw a free concert which was fun. Ambrosia, a band from the 70's and 80's.

I enjoy going to Indiana grand I would have giving them 5 stars but they need to upgrade and update some of their machines as there sister casino the atmosphere is nice it's outgoing the people are fun the waitresses and hosts are interesting to talk to so if you're looking for a night of something to do this is not a bad place

We tend to visit about once a month to "just go"Your not going to make a boat load of money but the environment is decent and the staff is attentive. The selection of slots if pretty good and the place is clean.

Wright Brothers music was good but the cigarette smoke was really obnoxious. At least is wasn't as noisy as most casinos with the slot machines turned down a couple of notches.

Indiana Downs was foolishly built without an outdoor grandstand, so the only place to get a decent view of the track is from the interior stands on the upper level. But don't dare sit in one of those seats, as they're all reserved, and they'll throw you out if you dare sit in one and spread out your Racing Form.It looks like they maintain a track solely to keep their casino license. Also, on the drive in, there was a large sign that said "Garage Full." That's a clear enough sign, so I parked in one of the outer lots and walked to the track. As I was walking by the garage, I saw people pulling in, despite the sign. There was an attendant directing cars into the garage, so I asked him "What sign do you put up when the garage is actually full?"I won't be back to Indiana Downs. I can find other things to do with my time.

Went to the Grand for New Year's eve to gamble and watch a favorite band, and to see if the Steakhouse at the Grand was as good as advertised. I will say this.....I've had great meals in and out of this country and the Steakhouse at the Grand Casino was better than St. Elmo's or Ruth's Chris, or any other high dollar place in Indy or surrounding area. If you haven't eaten here, don't let the location fool you....you never know you're in a casino. My date and I both enjoyed our Filet's and other dishes from Lobster Bisque to a Shrimp cocktail that put's St. Elmo's to shame. Caviar that was butter to the taste buds, oysters on the half shell with great flavor, desserts that were out of this world. We both will go back and go back often.

I'm from Illinois. We have live dealers and the casinos are completely non-smoking. I was unaware that smoking was still allowed in Indiana. I played some automated table games. Not as fun without a live dealer with personality. I was there for 45 minutes before I was finally coughing and my throat was too sore to stay. I get that people like to smoke while they gamble. But I suppose I'll continue to go to casinos in Illinois for the the time being.

Went to Indiana Grand with my brother during a weekend trip to Indy. First things first, this place is significantly outside Indy(about 30 minutes Southeast) so if you don't have a car I think you're outta luck, unless they have a shuttle but I don't think so. The casino complex and grounds itself is very nice and sprawling, since they have the races. With it being so big I was surprised there was no hotel attached, and when I asked they say people ask all the time. As far as the casino itself, it is a very clean and very new looking casino! While they do allow smoking, there is a large non-smoking section with alot of slots. They also have "table" games, but I believe they are all electronic, so that attractive woman dealing you blackjack hands isn't going to respond when you talk to her. They also have a nice restaurant inside that we had lunch at. I wouldn't say it was great, but our lunches were pretty good and they had a good beer selection. Overall we were pleased with the casino experience, and would definitely return.

Had nothing to do on Sunday of our business trip so sign said 20 minutes south of Indy. Well being on the west you have to get to south side. 20 minutes was 45 minutes. Casino was nice but smokey. Loss your money just a fast here as any other casino. Places to eat were pricey compared to others.

Me and my girlfriend visited the steakhouse inside the Indiana grand Casino on Saturday night I ordered the bone in ribeye with mashed potatoes and mushrooms , all I can say is that this was one of my top five meals ever and I've had steaks all over the world from South Africa to England to Canada., fantastic job Tammy !!

We had a great time here for Breeders cup day. Used the upstairs reserved restaurant. Great deal for all you could eat for lunch and dinner. Drink specials too. Racetrack is very nice. You can watch easily indoors or outdoors depending on the weather. Purses were actually pretty good to attract better horses than claimers all the time. We have been to some great tracks and for a small track, this one is very good!Casino is ok. It has no real table games as everything is a machine but we still had fun. The only real problem is that the entire casino smells like one giant cigarette. I'm ok with smoking in a well ventilated area but when you leave here - be ready to air our your clothes if you are not a smoker. Otherwise, it was a fun time with nice music too!

I won a little cash so that was definitely a good sign. Very friendly atmosphere, with adequate parking enough slots for everyone. The buffet was great with a variety of food choices. . I would definitely recommend to others and return again.

Enjoy going there for a fun time but if you don't win time after time it isn't any fun. Agree with several other players, to much smoke. Why the Indiana Legislators can't pass a law to stop smoking in Indiana casinos is beyond me. We all know second hand smoke is very harmful. I feel sorry for the workers having to be in this several days a week. Buffet is pretty good but feel they need a better variety of desserts. They have bread pudding every time I eat there and I'm not fond of that at all. If you want to go for fun ok but don't expect to walk out with any money. On Friday and Saturday nights they have music and it is to loud. We've left several times because of this.

Clean casino, good security, race track is neat and you have the option of a enclosed nice view if you pay to sit in the general area otherwise you will be put to the side of the viewing area if you choose to sit in the covered area without paying. Food here has always been excellent. If you come for an event beware, prices between your initial discussion and your final arrangements can change, especially on the horse race side.
