The Owen Valley Winery was so quaint and Peggy was knowledgeable and very pleasant. We were given the Upland Winery Tour Passport unlike French Like Winery who didn't even offer a smile. I highly recommend a visit to Spencer, IN. The Old River and the Crimson & Cream were delicious!

While staying at McCormick's Creek State Park we ventured to Owen Valley. Winding road but had no real trouble finding it. The wine we tasted was excellent. We ended up buying 2 bottles. I also asked some wine grapes that we have growing and was given information on the type and quality of the wine they would produce. Nice quiet place would go back next time we're in the area.

I was literally told they did not need my business for asking to do my wine tasting outside. I am so confused by this place. I assume it is because of our kids I'm really not sure. We are traveling from ky and decided to do a tasting. We have been to several wineries and always try to shop local both at home and when we travel. We didn't get a wine tasting because we were refused service and asked to leave immediately upon requesting to sit on their porch??? I'm truly baffled and will not return.

The road to the winery is a bit rough, but once you get there it's a nice little place . You get 5 free tastings . There are several to choose from ranging from dry, semi dry, sweet , and fruit wines. Our favorite was the crimson and cream. Their staff is friendly as well and their wines are reasonably priced. They also have various events they host .

We were in Spencer for McCormick’s Creek and the Tivoli Theatre, which features limited hours for tasting Owen Valley wines. After stopping at the visitor’s center off the courthouse square, we decided to drive to the winery. We doubt the visitor center volunteers had ever been to the winery, or surely they would have given better directions. Unfortunately, the winery’s flyer wasn’t much help either. After traveling about 2 miles south, we returned to ask for clarification, then followed the same winding, poorly-maintained road (rutted gravel at one point) through the “hills and hollers” of Owen County. Finally, we found Owen Valley Winery. Our hostess was friendly and talked about how they started the winery as she lead us through the tasting. You won’t see a picturesque facility, but we enjoyed the visit, bought a couple of bottles. We returned to Spencer on better roads by the OTHER route, which is more to the WEST of Spencer. A bit more of an adventure than we expected.

this is a review of the wine tasting room next to the theater in downtown Spencer. had a couple of hours to wander and stopped in for a tasting. experienced 5 wines and bought a bottle. Impressive! feeling a bit hungry at that hour, so I ordered the sausage, cheese and crackers plate. Perfectly matched, generous portions, sausage is locally made. Delicious. The company of Peggy was much enjoyed. Stop in for a real "local" experience..

Owen Valley Winery really surprised me. I am not sure what I was expecting, but I was surprised. I had left the highway in Spencer Indiana to see about getting some Christmas gifts….. the permission wine. How unique gift would that be?I was able to purchase this winery wines at a out of town location…. They do sell at different venues…. But I could never find their “permission wine”. First off it is in the hills of Owen Valley. And their hours are a bit off for my schedule. But the drive is worth it. The winery is beautiful. What a great location for a birthday party, wedding reception, retirement party, …. Oh just any kind of celebration. As for the wine, we had several different wines to taste while we were there. I recommend trying the wines as most of them were quite good. Yes…. The drive through Owen Valley (Spencer Indiana) to the Owen Valley Winery was worth it ….. Go for the wine of it.
