We recently moved to the area. There is a lack of decent, affordable hotels in the immediate area, so we were recommended the cabins at the park for a few nights while awaiting delivery of our furniture. The cabins were modern, clean, and came with full kitchen appliances and dishware. The beds were comfortable. We were able to rent a cabin right on the lake, which had a beautiful view, especially with the rise of the full moon. Not your ordinary motel, but the experience is worth it, for families with kids, or for a traveling businessman looking for a different type of lodging.

Very misleading "unattended" gatehouse when you enter, so you think you can just drive in and use the park, but NO, you must pay at an automated station beyond the gatehouse. There's no sign or anything advising you to do so. If we hadn't been warned by others, we would've missed the pay-station off to the side. Almost seems like Entrapment. We noticed constant patrols and saw them putting ticket after ticket on cars that had missed their "drive-by" pay station. It's a decent park and lake with a small beach and nice log cabins to rent. But Don't Be Fooled. It's not Free. Pay up front or Pay the Ticket which is many times more than their entrance fee
