This family owned chocolate shop is one that I will drive out of my way to get to.You are greeted with a happy hello and a chocolate sample, there can't be a better way to start out your shopping experience. The store is a very charming mix of old candy store with a few contemporary pieces mixed in.The chocolates are hand made which is something that you can see happen during the week day from the outside window. There are also times when you can make your own chocolate bar to order during their chocolate bar hours. They give you a list of ingredients and you can mix whatever it is you think would be good.During the fall the caramel apples are just divine, during February they make a special "Wilmarvel" or Macadamia Nut Turtle (Macadamia nuts covered with caramel and enrobed with chocolate - love at first bite). For regulars they have a Chocolate Registry where you can fill out what chocolates you like the best and family or friends can come in and make a box of your favorites. You can also buy candy for the kids such as gummies, sour things, Jelly Belly, and others.A great shopping experience!

I'll be the first to admit that my immediate and extended family are regulars to this magical place. The offerings are top notch and in my opinion, the best in the state! Staff is always kind, patient and courteous. My daughter won the annual count contest last year and the 5lb prize lasted no more than a couple days, if that's any indication!

We were five adults and one baby that stopped at Wilmar's on a Saturday afternoon. None of us had been there before. It is a nice little shop were they make their own chocolates and have a wide variety in a case to pick from and also premade boxes. They were very friendly when we came in and we each got a sample that was very tasty. The thing that sets Wilmar apart and makes it a fun stop is that you can have them make a chocolate bar to your order. You pick milk or dark chocolate or a mix and then up to four toppings from their selection of 30 or more options. You watch as they mix in your selections to the melted chocolate, pour it into a mold and then into the freezer it goes for 15 minutes to set while you wait and browse. The staff was all very friendly and you felt they really enjoyed their jobs. We will be stopping back someday.

When in Appleton, I always stop at Wilmars for some of their chocolates. Always wonderful! Made on the premises, and the varieties change with the seasons.

Not only is their chocolate yummy, the people who work there are very nice. Enjoyed samples and will definitely come again. Their turtles are to die for. They were written up by the New York Times and have lots to choose from. If you drive through Appleton on 41, just exit Wisconsin Avenue and head east a few blocks. They are located on the corner of Wisconsin and Superior.

Locally owned and operated, by a family. Best handmade chocolates ever. Better than higher priced Godiva, Candinas, Jos. Schmidt. Free sample each day to customers. Friendly and helpful staff and owners. Come see the chocolates being made. Custom made chocolate bars with your choice of fillings/add-ins while you wait.Love every single chocolate in this place. Chocolate covered caramel apples and chocolate dipped gigantic strawberries are fantastic. Their handmade caramels are exquisite - do not stick to your teeth.Exotic chocolates such as caramel sea salt, curry, ginger, red hots. Love it all!

This is a small chocolate and candy factory in Appleton. The chocolate confection combinations are outstanding. My favorite is the chocolate pecan turtle. They will even make a chocolate bar or "chocolates" to your order and you can watch them do it in the factory in back of the store. A must see when visiting Appleton.

Wilmar Chocolates is a wonderful stop to satisfy the sweet tooth. Kids (even the "older" ones) will enjoy making their own chocolate bar with the multitude of choices of ingredients. Park across the street in the open lot. Enter into a delightful shop filled with the fragrant chocolate aroma. You are greeted with a sample of their wonderful chocolate and the trip only gets better. Head towards the back of the building where you can read how chocolate is made, watch them packaging for sales all over the world. There were 10 of us and each made a unique candy bar that is put together while you watch, shaken into a mold, and after a quick trip to a fridge, wrapped in gold foil. The oohs and ahhhs began as everyone saw their ingredients being folded into their choice of chocolate. Try the chocolate covered cherries and the candied apples are the largest I have ever seen. Leave about an hour for checking out the store, reading the information about chocolate, and making a candy bar. Scrumptious!!!
