If you are anywhere near Arcadia WI. It is about 45 minutes north of La Crosse WI. You need to check out this park. I will have a hard time explaining the history. The founder of Ashley Furniture has put together so many statues to memorialize the war veterans. Going in Spring or Summer is better to walk around and the park has all the flags and flowers out. It is free to go. I have walked through it 10+ times. There is a water park near by as well. I drive up this way just to see this park and gladly spend 1 1/2 on road. You will learn something new by reading the history on the many plaques. Look for the fighter plane coming over the hill, there are places to sit and walking paths are paved nicely. AWESOME PLACE TO REMEMBER THOSE THAT HAVE SERVED THIS COUNTRY!!!

I may have used that term to describe another venue that I've visited in the past, but this park truly is an inspiration. From my understanding, some local business leaders have contributed largely to this park and it contains many statues and an amphitheater you usually do not see in a small town like Arcadia, Wisconsin. They should indeed be proud of this gem. The walk into the main area has the statues of historic figures on display and a tribute to the military throughout. There's a piece of the World Trade Center also from 9/11, commemorating that tragic day. I've never attended any events at the amphitheater but it appears to be very inviting. The park is next to a recreation area (baseball fields, swimming pool) and has a picnic area and restrooms.
