I stopped here while visiting Fennimore and was amazed at the clean, organized store but was really impressed by the young lady who helped us. She was so friendly and helpful. We had questions about some of the cheeses, she was more than happy to answer our questions and was really quick to give you a sample to try. The prices were great, the selection was awesome. Make sure you stop here to check it out.

Good value and delicious cheese variety. Great samples. Original store is a little hard to find, but worth the drive off the main highway!

If this is the place I'm thinking of, it is great. We stopped here on the way back from House On The Rock (separate review) and I just wanted to try some famous Wisconsin cheese. The selection is almost overwhelming in here and they had 5 or 6 sample trays with cut up cubes to try. This is a great way to introduce yourself to a new taste. I never knew what Fontelle (?) is but it's delicious. I wanted only a tiny bit of two or three varieties so I chose small amounts of half price cheeses and when I had them later with my crackers and summer sausage, they were all delicious. They also have soft drinks, crackers, and cheese slicers and knives for sale. This is a fun little trip on the way back to or from Wisconsin Dells.

I have already had Carr Valley cheeses in Chicago, and know the cheese maker's -- Sid Cook's -- reputation as one of the leading artisanal cheese producers in the US. The cheeses are not inexpensive; this is not the place for bargain basement prices, but the quality is well worth the cost, and the shop offers a variety you simply cannot find elsewhere. This is a must for serious cheese lovers.

We recently made a trip to Wisconsin from Illinois and stopped in Fennimore on our road trip. We stayed and ate at the Silent Woman hotel/restaurant in town and got a recommendation to check out Carr Valley Cheese from the chef, as it was on the restaurant menu there. We were in luck! Carr Valley was just down the road, and we were able to stop in. GREAT experience, nice people and even better cheese! We stocked up and brought a bunch back to IL with us!!!

We were looking for a Cheese shop to stop at and found Carr Valley in Fennimore WI as we were driving through town. Was a nice shop. There were samples of different cheeses, and plenty of cheese to choose from and purchase. We were especially looking for brick and farmers which they did have. These two cheese are very hard to find in the local grocery store deli, so we were really happy to buy them here. We also purchased a bottle of Cranberry wine for a friend, who serves it to his family on Thanksgiving. Wish they were in Illinois, I would be a frequent visitor.

Large selection, very helpful staff eager to give samples to help you decide. Delicious cheeses from cow, sheep, and goat milk.

They have a great selection of cheeses. They also sell some of their local wines. My spouse works at a cheese factory so he very much enjoyed looking at their selection of cheese. He found cheeses that we had never seen before.

We stopped at Carr Valley Cheese in Fennimore Wi. on a whim as we were passing through. This turned out to be the best part of travel that day. We were greeted by two young ladies that went out of there way to provide information about the many many varieties and samples of anything that we were interested in. The friendliness and courtesy along with the enthusiaism for the products that they produced make this a place where you will go out of the way to come back.
