The tasting room is right in town and close to main road, so, you can get in easily to sample. Their wines are alright and have the potential for being better, just need a little something more to them.

Wines were good (not great), but the staff was fantastic. The person doing our tasting knew a lot about their products, and was super friendly. Definitely worth a stop if you are passing through the area.

Today we traveled from Janesville up to Fountain City, taking in a total of 3 wineries! This was our 2nd stop of the day. We asked about lunch places & was delighted to see she had menus of 3 local restaurants to choose from, so we left to eat, & then returned. Our tasting included 4 different wines. I liked the Fountain City Ruby the best! The also have many wine related items for sale. We Tasted the wine jelly. It was delicious! They have several flavors! I chose Hunters Blend. It was a fun stop in a little Wisc. town on the Mississippi River! The train tracks nearby are very busy & LOUD!! The service was GREAT!

Stopped at this winery as it is part of the Great River Winery Tour. We were pleased to find out you can sample seven wines for free! Cannot beat that!!! The staff were friendly and knew a lot about their wines. We were the only guests at the winery, which for us was good; however, this place should be packed with how great their wines are, and it being free. My favorites were the Hunter's Blend, Ardella's Rose, and Fountain City Gold port style wine. Their bottle prices are reasonably priced too. If you choose, you can purchase a glass of wine and bring it upstairs to their deck and enjoy a great view of the river. This is a must see if you are driving along the river road.

Nestled in the old buildings of Fountain City sits the tasting room for Seven Hawks Vineyards. If you venture down the Great River Road on the Wisconsin side you pass by their vineyard just north of town. Fountain city is a fun little town with several gems. This seems like a newer winery and they have decent wines. They offer a complimentary tasting of any 5 wines.
