Nice place, not overwhelming. You can go through it in an hour or two. Nice gift shop to buy books, jewelry and minerals. Friendly people.

Very small (even smaller than expected), but given the small fee ($2 adult, $1 child) one shouldn't complain. It was clean and modern. We were there only about 20 minutes which was enough to see everything (given that you didn't read all the exhibit info). It's nice that it's directly attached to the Barlow Planetarium (in same building). Free parking just west of the building (look for the visitor parking sign).

We visited the Weis museum for a couple hours during a recent trip to Appleton. Our kids are 5 (daughter) and 7 (son). Our daughter was pretty bored as most of the exhibits require a lot of reading and comprehension. Our son was into a lot of the exhibits, but the boredom of our daughter affected our overall experience. So my opinion would be that the museum would be better with kids in the 7 to 10 age-range as a minimum. All that said, it's a neat little museum. We were there on a day when the Barlow Planetarium (right next door) was closed, so go on a day when both are open. One thing to note - the museum is a member of ASTC (Assoc of Science and Technology Centers). We got in free with our membership to our home ASTC-participant science center.
