The building has different animal exhibits and they had fish to look at. The trails are well maintained and it's fun to go sit by the large ponHeckrodt since I was a child. It's still great. Oh, and it's free!

Heckrodt is one of our favorite spots. They have a great nature center full of animal specimens as well a an education room filled with books, puzzles, and nature based toys. There are wonderful programs that are either free or, if there is a charge it's very affordable. There are trails that are easy to walk on or push a stroller. There is also a great little playground to which they have added really cute things. This is a place where my kids love to go no matter what season.

Well kept nature center with friendly, knowledgeable staff. Excellent walking trails that are clearly marked and informational kiosks throughout. Fun for all ages!

This is a smaller, but well maintained nature center. Every time I go, I see at least some type of animal. Gravel paths as well as wooded bridges.
