We read great reviews about this winery, and loved the story behind it, but must admit to being a little skeptical when we entered a very modest facility and, quite frankly, the first person we met was not exactly welcoming. We are so glad we stayed and enjoyed the entire experience! Make sure to plan your visit so that you can take the tram tour of the property - note advance reservations required. The co-owner Marion narrated the tour from the back of a tram powered by a tractor driven by a member of his staff. The winery offers a wide range of wine made from grapes and other fruit - among the fruit wines, black currant was our group's favorite, and several also loved the lemon described by other reviewers. After the tour we met Marlys, co-owner and Marion's wife, who is charming and helpful and more than made up for our less-than-welcoming first impression. As our visit progressed we developed greater appreciation for this is a small, working winery, and the staff have multiple responsibilities. We will definitely return to Weggy Winery!

Located in an old dairy barn in the rolling hills of Wisconsin. To get there you almost feel like you are driving on a farmer's private road. Tasting in the front when you walk in with some gift and food items and vats in the back. Weggy's offers 10 tastings which is generous. I found many of their wines had a strange after taste but I did find a gem called Lemondrop. Expecting a fruity syrupy wine I found Lemondrop to be the consistency of a Pinot Gris but with a lemon tartness that was an explosion in the mouth. Very refreshing on a hot summer day.On a Saturday afternoon on the small patio we enjoyed the entertainment of one man playing music in the background while we ate some of the cheese we purchased there along with some food we had brought ourselves. The staff was kind enough to loan up a plate and knife for the cheese. We also got to sample a white and a red sangria which most of our group enjoyed.Yes, it is out of the way and I prefer more robust wines but I think anyone will find something they would enjoy drinking.

A LivingSocial deal brought us here and it was a beautiful drive and scenic area. There is nothingpretentious about this operation, just good fruit wines and attentive service. They have quite a large number of offerings so was nice to be able to sample 10 of our choice. We did not have time for the tour, but will go back for that as the area is quite lovely and would like to hear more about their operation.

We really enjoyed our time at Weggy Winery. We did the tour at 11am on a Sunday and it was a great time. We sampled almost all of the 40 wines and brought home some unique wines for enjoyment until the next time we visit.

I had bought a coupon from the public TV auction which included a tour and wine. I brought my daughter out for the tour which was given by the owner Marion. He was very knowledgeable about farming and we learned more than we expected to. Driving our own golf cart on the tour was lots of fun. We have toured many vineyards and this one was our favorite so far. We had our picnic lunch on their patio and enjoyed being in the area for the morning.

In what seemed the middle of no where is an old milking barn that now houses the Weggy Winery. Hubby and I climbed on the tram for the vineyard tour given by the owner, Marion. Marion may be a winemaker, but I think he's also a grade A farmer! He gave the most informative vineyard/fruit tree tour that I've ever been on. We really enjoyed it! Back in the tasting room, all the gals that were pouring were so nice and had something to say about each wine ("I have a case of this at home." "This is my new favorite" "Drink this with _____"). Although we were a bit skeptical when arriving, we would rank this winery tour as one of our favorites!
