Wow, what a fabulous state park tucked into this high hills area of Wisconsin! The vista's are amazing, grounds beautiful and well kept, the staff very informed and friendly. The Kickapoo river is down below and canoe rentals are easy. I'm not a camper but would definitely consider it for this park. Nice, clean facilities. No bugs this time of year just perfect weather for hiking, biking and friendly campfires!

Beautiful park to camp. We did a cart in site, which I would do again. Our site fit 3 tents pretty snug, but we were fine. No Ranger Danger here! The ranger was helpful, with some good tips. Like The Old Settler's Trail, which was beautiful. It's close to the Kickapoo River, which I highly recommend. I'll even throw a shout out to Kickapoo Wild Adventure. We rented canoe's & I'm glad we did. After 4 hours on the river, the back rests came in handy.

Well worth the $5 pass for an hour on the overlook. You can see for miles. It was very peaceful when we were there. We pulled out some meat, cheese, crackers and had a little picnic.

If you ever get a chance to canoe or kayak the Kickapoo river, Wildcat Mountain State Park is where you want to camp. The park itself is pristine, amazing views from the lookout point, the shower building is newer, clean, the water hot with good pressure. My minor complaints: 1) Other than at the bathroom, there are no trash bins anywhere, not even on the way out. You pack in, you pack out. I would have liked to have seen trash bins at the exit anyway.2) If you have a campsite close to the front, it's a long trek to the rest room, like 1/4 mile! I was on my motorcycle so I rode that to get there, but wow it would have been nice to have a closer toilet. You'll need a State Park sticker for your vehicle(s), which if I remember correctly was $7, and then I think tent camping was like $12, in any case the costs were minimal. That's it! So if you get a site closer to the rest rooms, which would also mean closer to the lookout point, you would have zero complaint. Canoeing the Kickapoo is a blast, we rented from Titanic Canoe Rental and had no issues at all, I would like to try Kickapoo Wild Adventure though next time because they had newer canoes with built in back rests, which would have been nice.

Quiet and beautiful! Driving through the Amish farms was breathtaking and the Amish families were very friendly. We had some big thunder storms and where our site was (#4) we never got the huge winds we heard come down on us. our site was on a slight incline but was nice and private. Just a nice little State Park we will definitely be back!

Beautiful campsites and clean, convenient facilities. Hot showers and flush toilets! Our site had a view of the valley below. Forest rangers are helpful and polite. We took two hiking trails, Ice Cave Trail and Old Settlers Trail. The Ice Cave Trail is only 30 minutes to a beautiful cave with a waterfall -- very cool. Old Settlers Trail is a 2-hour loop through the forest -- a good workout. Cars are not allowed on the campground, so you haul your gear to your site in carts. Try to arrive at the campground BEFORE 6 p.m. as the office closes at 6 and then you can't check out a cart because you won't have the combo to the lock. Rent a canoe or kayak for use on the nearby Kickapoo River, which is shallow and easy to navigate. There is a also a beautiful scenic overlook.

I stayed on the horse site with 9 or 10 other people. It was clean and everyone was respectful. People with dogs respected everyone by keeping dogs at bay. The trails, where do I start about them. AMAZING! PEACEFUL! RELAXING! and so much more. The trails were kept up and clear. I honestly did not want to leave! I recommend this place to anyone who wants nice trails to ride on for hours.

The view from here is stunning. This is a state park so a entry sticker is required. There is camping, a playground and a pavilion for your picnic. The road up there is an adventure in its self.

Camping at this place is great. The trails are easy to navigate, the campsites are average and quiet. We liked this locale so much we ended up buying land up in Vernon county after our visit. You can hike, canoe or camp and the photographic opportunities are endless.

Very nice park with great views and the ice cave was a neat feature despite being summer. Old Settlers Trail is long and hilly - a good workout! Worth the stop.

One of the most scenic parks I have been in. Nice hiking trails. Very colorful in October. Clean and neat bathrooms. Playground equipment for the children.

Wildcat Mountain is one of my favorite state parks - it's lush, loaded with great viewing spots overlooking the Kickapoo Valley, and has a few great hiking trails and access to one of the finest quiet-water paddling rivers in the world. The campsites are spacious, and it's a quiet park overall. Amenities are few, but it's clean and well-maintained. Campsites are limited - it doesn't have the huge number of Governor Dodge or Wyalusing, and while it's also not as popular as either of those, it can still fill up during the summer months, so take that into account when reserving. Also, a large chunk of the park lies across the highway, which makes the park seem a bit smaller than it actually is. The nature trail that switches back up mount Pisgah is quite nice, but it's also not immediately accessible from the campsites the way the other trails are. The canoe landing is also on the west side of the highway - and while you *can* canoe upstream and then drift back down (or vice versa) the Kickapoo has a pretty assertive current so it's recommended that you do a one-way trip from either upstream down to the park, or from the park to further landings downstream. There are outfitters in Ontario and elsewhere that can provide shuttle service or full-service rental. If you run out of hiking trails within the park to explore, the Kickapoo Valley Reserve to the south is being improved and prepared as well. The park's worth a visit even if not camping; during the summer and particularly during fall peak color, the views from the overlooks on both Wildcat Mountain and Mount Pisgah are stunning.

We tent-camped here in late August, in the "cart-in" site #110. I was very glad to see how private the cart-in sites were. we were not listening to neighbors' conversations/music. We were sung to sleep by crickets. I liked our site as we had morning and evening shade. Some sites get a lot of morning sun! the area was VERY clean, the pit toilets included (no bad smell or bugs) and the hiking trails really nice (we did the entire Old Settler's Trail). I could not believe the nature center! full of great information and take-home materials! We did not canoe but we did bike (Sparta-Elroy trail). Plenty of good water available. Garbage for us was a bit far, but there were no bear/raccoons that we saw, so limiting garbage sites sure helps! Nice to find a simply beautiful, clean place to camp. we will return! (we are a family of 5, kids are 17, 10 and 8). Oh, we had plenty of room for two tents.

We stayed at the State Park on site 119 - it was a "cart site" so you have a cart that you load all your stuff onto and take to a somewhat remote site. It was a nice site - bit if you are looking for shade don't choose this one. It is very open, it borders the woods. There are other cart sites with shade. It has a beautiful observation area - great for watching sunsets. We enjoyed it - we will be back.

We camped a few times at Wildcat and had a great time. They don't have flush toilets, so be prepared, but have nice sites which are *mostly* level. Be sure to take advantage of the Kickapoo river activities nearby. Rent a tub from Mr. Duck or a canoe from Titanic!
