I went here a couple years ago. It was fantastic. I enjoyed every minute of it. There was a military Mash unit display that was cool.

Just came to look around and enjoyed it a lot. Think at the end of July is the EAA convention and this airport is one of the busiest in the world at that time of year.

You will not believe how many planes and history reside inside this museum! Both kids and adults love all the things to see, movies to watch and the gift shop, too. The "Fly In" in July attracts flight enthusiasts from around the world with air shows every day.

I guess it all depends in how many air adventure attractions one knows. This is the only place I have visited within this category so to me it was great, excellent indeed and i recommend visitors to pay them a visit. I come here every 5 years for an international activity and the air show is the best I have ever seen. One of the great things about this particular place is that there is no age limit, anyone can enjoy the air museum at all times.

PROS: ample free parking; ASTC member; extensive display of aircraft inside - with a local focus. Varied warplanes inside including the p-38 Lightning! Great kid Venture section- even the big kids would enjoy it! There is a scaled down Raptor model the kids can ride on! An informative 5 hour visit. The 2 level of exhibits provide different views of all the planes. It also appears that a lot of the planes featured in Disney's "Planes" movie have their real life counterpart here. (including the car-plane). While I would not say it is better than the Air and Space Smithsonian Museum (that museum is so big it needs 2 locations! and the USS Intrepid in New York has more warplanes) , I will say it is the next best museum when it comes to airplanes! Good selection of items in the gift shop. Close to everything from retail stores, groceries, restaurants to hotels and churches! CONS: the bomber simulation ride on the second floor was while affordable ($6) was very difficult to control (we were upside down within the first few minutes almost getting a nosebleed) and the graphics were very primitive. it was not an enjoyable experience.

Once a summer, we are fortunate enough to have our skies full of planes. The stunt planes, the historic planes, the funny shaped planes. The street are busy with visitors from all over the world. What a treat. What a special event and how lucky we are that it is in Oshkosh. The EAA does such a nice job with Air Venture. There is something at the EAA grounds for everyone. The museum is a perfect example of history in aviation through the years. Hands on kiddie area makes it family friendly.

Lots of information on aviation. Great planes on display. Just try to visit it other than around week of EAA...that week is super busy!

This is a world class aircraft museum. We live in the area and visit frequently. It is my grandchildren's favorite place to visit (mine, too.)One tip for you - if you have several in your family or if you plan to visit twice per year, the family membership is the way to go at only $50 per year ($40 for a single.) The membership works at a lot of other museums across the country, too. See ASTC membership listings here: http://www.astc.org/members/pdf/PassPub05_14.pdfHere is the museum's website: https://www.eaa.org/en/eaa-museum

Everything you could want in a general aviation museum with an emphasis on the home builder and aviation history of home building. Also a great warbirds display

Great place to go to learn and see about aviation. Plan on spending some time to take it all in. Gets crowded around EAA yearly fly in. But if you haven't been there for that the air shows are a must to see as well!

We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly as we took in all of what the EAA Airventure Museum had to offer. Everyone there are mostly volunteers working;hence they are extremely helpful. Plan on being there for a good part of the day, for there is so much to see and do. Like the air simulator and during the summer months they sometimes give rides in vintage airplanes. Also in the summer is the EAA fly in. Planes from all around the country participate in giving an awesome air show. This air show is an all week event. So if anyone is interested in that, be sure you have plenty of sunscreen and book far ahead in advance for camp sites and hotels during the time of the fly in.

This museum is probably the best aviation museum in the3 world, better than the Smithsonian (at least according to the locals). If visiting, make sure you allow plenty of time, especially if visiting during AirVenture

I have been to this museum multiple times since I was 11 years old. I loved it then and love it even more now. My parents and I are pilots, so we obviously take more interest to some things than others, but I have taken non-aviation friends here, and they loved it too! There's so much history, and such amazing stories to hear. The museum itself is well designed, and full of fun surprises!

I visited EAA air museum in June-2014. Entry fees is 12.50 for adults. It is a great place to visit and the best museum that i have visited. It has lots of vintage and experimental aircrafts. The museum is very informative and you can read many historical facts. It also hosts the world's largest air show, though i could not watch that.I also flew in 1929 built biplane for $75 and it was truly amazing.
