Went to floatrite at apple river for my bachelor party. Wow. One of the best times I have ever had in my life. Who knew that floating down some tubes for a few hours was such a great experience. Some good stops along the way with big crowds to party and have fun. I will say though, not a place for families ON WEEKENDS. It's a big party zone and that is why we went and that is what we enjoyed. I definitely wouldn't take my family with me here on weekends lol.

Living near the Apple River myself, I can say that the River's Edge is the best place to camp because your trip down the river starts here. The campground is huge and beautiful, with views of the river everywhere. The staff opens the bar in the evenings for karaoke. I only hope they can open the restaurant for full service and fabulous dinners again soon. If you've not experienced tubing down the Apple River, this is the best place to reserve your camping spot and try it. You'll love it!

We rented tubes from the Hideway and they told us they are open until 8pm, but we were done tubing at 645pm and waited for 45 minutes to be picked up after a passerby called the owner of the Hideway to pick us up, as we kept watching the people at the River's edge bus coming and going 3-4 buses picking up people done tubing. Order half prices deals from eauclaire square.com. pay $25 for a $50 value but they have to be ordered ahead of time it take 7-10 days to get the purchase. The day we went the Hideway rented 30 tubes the other 300 people rented from River's Edge, do not be taken at the Hideway and have put your children through what we did to get a ride back to our car by the Hideway. You are in water and you do not have your cell phone to call for help, we you are not being picked up by the Hideway. Please rent and do your business with River's Edge. The Hideway is poor management, bad camping and dirty and unkept grounds.

Gosh what a fun place to play and camp. As soon as we got there we got our suits on and headed to the river for tubing....the water was cool at first but we adjusted quickly. And by the time the rest of our camping buddies arrived we were able to tube again down the Apple River. We had a blast floating along for about 2 hours each time for a total of 4 trips over the weekend. This year the water was deeper and more rapid so the rapids at the end were reallllllllly fun !!! Interaction on the river and in the campground was friendly. We got a free ice cream cone at the end of the 1st tubing ride. We took a few rides down their waterslides, went to karaoke, had a campfire and my son fitted his truck bed with a swimming pool full of water so we had splash fun with a couple of rides around the campground and met a lot of people who hopped in. Our 5th wheel was backed up to the 4-lane highway, but we were so tired that we did not hear a thing once we bunked.

booked their cabin and was told I had to pay in advance ( not a problem) but when I called to confirm my reservation to make sure everything was good to go, i left 2 messages and never got a call back. It gets better...my friend called to reserve his site/tube and was told that there was no reservation under my last name and that they had booked the cabin already, even though I had already paid for it, and the money was taken out of my account...was told I would the get 5 free camp and tube passes...when we arrived they charged everyone. Then met with one of the managers, who seemed very helpful and told me he would refund the money (sounds good, OK)...still waiting after giving him my CC number 3 times over the next month...as of today more than 1.5 months later, still no refund...horrible horrible service, campsite is OK at best, and they charge for beer deposit ( not the tube, the actual beer or pop you bring on the river)....word to the wise...don't pay in advance and look for another campsite in the area...there are some good ones

Just want the public to know, especially women, that there is sexual harassment that goes on while tubing. Be aware of teenage/college age males with plastic beads who approach & think that they are at Mardi Gras wanting to give you beads in return that you take your top off. Security is needed. There is no one to go to if you have a problem. 1st & last time I do this again. Very disappointed.

The tubing: The river is a little dirty, and shallow. The "Rapids" are not much. But if you like to sit in the sun - this is a great place to do it. Just be sure to go on a weekday to avoid the drunken, mardigras-like parties.River's Edge: Good. Fair pricing, great service. You leave your keys with them while you tube and they have someone overseeing the parking lot. The trip is about 2 1/2 hours, and they're pretty prompt at picking you up at the end of the trip.

I live within 1 mile. The campgrounds are nice and the tubing is fun. I suggest that if you tube with a family, go during the week. Weekends are usually for the younger crowd escaping the city.

if u go, u get your tube and decide when to jump in. if u c a huge group odf loud partiers and that is your thing- then get in... if not, wait 5 min. they will b long gone and u can have a more peaceful time. it has campgrounds, good showering area, loud at night, it is in general, alot of fun- but it is very very uncensored....

My three teenage boys, my brothers and their families all rented tubes at this campground and spent the day floating on Apple River. We had so much fun - and it was a terrific break to the hustle and bustle of shopping in Minneapolis. Renting the tubes was inexpensive - there are coupons on their website - we even rented a tube for our cooler and brought our own pop, chips and other snacks. Just remember to wear water socks, or sandals that can get wet but not lost (ie. no flip flops) For little ones, you may want to bring a life jacket as at times the water can be quite deep. The whole river takes about 2hours to float - it was a fantastic way to spend an afternoon!!!!!
