trek bicycle factory tour

Tours of the Trek Factory are offered weekly on Wednesday at 10A. While their website says it is a factory tour, it's not the Trek factory where they make the majority of their bikes (that is near Ft. Atkinson WI and is closed to the public). This site is limited to their special carbon fiber process and you really don't see much. Walking through office and cubicles, they point out where R&D, Marketing, Sales, IT and other departments are located. We saw one robotic painting operation and decal application. We also stood outside various "Secret" areas and were told what happens on inside. Wow, we were given a tour of the employee gym. All in all, somewhat disappointing, especially when their atrium presents a great overview of Trek. Unfortunately, it didn't continue when we started down the hall.
