wisconsin river papermaking museum

I never was sure of the name of the fine museum. It could have been the Nash House or the Mead House, of even the New Page Museum. All of these names carry history here. The old house is lovely and well kept, much of it however is used as office space for the New Page Paper Mill and is inaccessable to visitors. There is much to see however downstairs and in the upstairs art gallery. Our guide was so knowlegable and interesting to listen to. The tour covers the house history as well as the paper making history. Paper making history is covered from ancient China to todays methods. Well worth the visit

Even if you do not care how paper is made, you will find the story of this house and other items inside of such interest, you will be very glad you came. Must see!

Learned a lot about the paper mill industry. Not only the history but about the tools used in the early days of the industry. What a shame the paper mill in Port Edwards closed!!! Such a tragic loss for the area.

My kids and I stopped by the museum one day and we were glad we did. The museum is very nicely arranged and there is lots to learn. Our guide was very informative and definitely knew his facts. We learned a lot on our tour. This is a great family outing!
