This is a nice place to stop for pictures. You can walk to back and see lake Michigan. Lighthouse has limited hours so check before going if you want to go inside.

Beautiful place to see right on Milwaukees lake front. After looking at the lighthouse go to North Point Custard. The burgers are great and so are the fries. Menu isnt that big, but they also serve custard and on a hot summer day nothing is better

As a Milwaukee native, I didn't even know that this place existed. And what a pleasant discovery! Part relaxing, part museum, and part fantastic view. Friendly volunteers. Really a must see for Milwaukeeans. Very interesting history.

This is a lot of fun and interesting facts. You are going to climb a ladder to look out, so where something practical, but you don't have to. It only costs a couple bucks. Veterans and service people are free, and there always seems to be a Groupon for this. Great something to see and do for the money.

Even thought it was February with much snow on the ground, we still enjoyed our stroll to the lighthouse set on the beautiful Lake Michigan lakefront. The neighborhood around the lighthouse and park is filled with beautiful older homes that are fun to stroll passed, too. The lighthouse itself was not open for tours, but we enjoyed our time at the park and taking beautiful pictures. If your looking to get some fresh air, this is a wonderful scenic place to visit.

The location and neighborhood were really great too see. The gentlemen who was our tour guide did an excellent job on telling us the story of this lighthouse. Was cloudy but the view was still worthwhile. People running this lighthouse are very informative and make you feel very welcome!

John Gurda, Milwaukee's Historian gave a fantastic lecture at the Lighthouse. He went from the beginning of the Lighthouse to present covering all aspects of why it was built, how it was restored and its original purpose. The view from the top of the Lighthouse is one that can't be seen from anywhere else in the city...certainly worth a visit when you come to Milwaukee.

If you have a few days to spend in Milwaukee or are a resident, add North Point Lighthouse as a destination. There is a small fee, but you do get to walk to the top of the lighthouse with a view of Lake Michigan. You start your tour in a small museum with history of the Milwaukee harbor area. Stay and enjoy the surrounding park with a restaurant, golf and some of the best views of the lake. Friendly staff is available to answer questions.

Apparently not very well known by the locals, but is definitely worth a visit as it is a true piece of Great Lakes maritime history. The exhibits tell a comprehensive story of the area, shipping on the Great Lakes, and the hard life of a light keeper. The staff is very knowledgeable and love to engage visitors.

The lighthouse is extremely well preserved and restored, and the museum is quite interesting. The museum is only open limited hours because it is staffed by volunteers, but I found the volunteers on duty to be extremely helpful and interested in speaking about the artifacts on display. Unfortunately our kids did not take too much interest in the light house history, but they did like climbing the circular stair case to go up to the beacon. The museum gives you a real feel for what life was like over a hundred years ago, and from the top of the lighthouse there is a beautiful view.

My husband and I got a stamp book so we could visit different lighthouses and get a stamp for our book. This one was different to see. Climb up was easy with plenty of space. Others we've been on were much harder. View is terrific. People volunteering inside are very friendly and knowledgeable.

The keepers quarters of this lighthouse has been turned into the police headquarters. I think this is a good idea!! The temp was 53 degrees the day we were there and there were surfers in the water. Braver souls than me. But loved watching them from the garden. Beautiful area!!

Just stopped by to snap a few pictures while on the Untapped Tour bus. Nice view of Lake Michigan. Might have taken the tour if we had the time. The price is a bit high, but a lot of these lighthouse "friends" groups operate with volunteers only, and on shoestring budgets. What they charge usually goes right back into the maintenance of the lighthouse, so considered it a donation.

Nice area to walk in and enjoy the outdoors, lighthouse is interesting. Wouldn't go out of my way, but we were close by.
