We were here for the Christmas show in dec. 2014The show was very enjoyable. The actors all did a nice job and also entertained before the show singing carols in the front room. The cast also included children which was a nice surprise. The buffet was good with everyone satisfied.Nice setting outside too.Good place to take family for a show that is very affordable.

My husband and I had brunch at Allenberry, very, very disappointing. So much potential there with the lovely setting. Carpeting worn and dirty, linens stained, there is a certain mildew odor that permeates the restaurant. Food very bland, and frankly lacking in any type of selection. Definitely will not be going back there to eat.The bright side of our visit, was the accommodation's. So, I would stay there, and head down the road to the Tavern to eat.

We attended the production of the Marvelous Wonderettes and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The 4 lead singers were great. For a small theatre they offer great entertainment.

I've been visiting this beautiful location for the past 30 years, every summer. It is in a beautiful setting; the property is lovely. Once you step into the inn, however, it simply loses its past luster. My mother and I opted for a matinee and the buffet lunch in the Carriage Room. My advice? Skip it and eat at the bar. The salad buffet consisted of a Ceasar Salad and some other greens with five canisters of salad additions. There were a few other typical offerings: potato salad, macaroni salad, etc. Warm entrees were chicken nuggets, roasted pork, limp vegetables, baked fish, mashed potatoes. The carving station offered ham and turkey. Dessert was limited to their signature sticky buns, two types of pie, and an ice cream bar. It was not worth the price by any means. The food was average. We then headed to the matinee. Allenberry usually offers good shows with pleasant production values. We almost walked out of this one at the first intermission. "Ladies Night in a Turkish Bath House" was onstage. This is a farce, very hard to perform, and most of the cast simply wasn't up to the challenge. Uneven performances, too much schtick, actors who were simply not sure who they were supposed to be, and a leading lady with a voice that was affectedly screechy and grating - the director should have dialed her back several notches. The once charming Allenberry is showing signs of genteel decline. It was sad.

The cast was incredibly social and engaging. The murder mystery weekend actors made us laugh and kept us entertained. They never broke character, even when we saw them on the property. Some were local and some traveled for the production. All were very good!!

Enjoyed the 2013 Christmas show, When Santa Meets Sally, this week at Allenberry Playhouse. The actors did a great job and the singing was enjoyable as well. The children's performances were adorable. Good local talent! The holiday show comes with a dinner buffet. Food was good and included a large variety of dishes. The service during dinner was friendly and attentive. Will come back again soon.

Went to see "When Santa met Sally" with the wife, kids, and grandkids last night and it was great. The grandkids all loved it they were sad when it ended. I am not a big fan of musicals but it was very well done, cast did a wonderful job, sitting in the second row and when Santa and Sally kissed in the end my grandson covered his eyes and said "EWW" real loud a few members of the cast actually laughed. Would do this again

Over the years we have gone to see MANY shows. Always enjoyable time. The theater staff does a terrific job with all the shows!!!Not a fan of the buffet. And the front staff lacks warmth.

You will truly enjoy the combination dinner and theatrical performance at the Allenberry Playhouse. In addition to a great on-stage performance that changes every couple of months, the dinner buffet has many choices that will suit any taste.Even better, select the package that includes overnight lodging in one of the guest houses or the lodge. The sticky buns on the morning buffet are the best anywhere. Although we have never attended, Allenberry has a murder mystery weekend package in the winter that sounds like fun.In summary, you will not be disappointed with any option you choose at Allenberry Playhouse.

We saw The Full Monty. We were familiar with some of the cast and were prepared to be entertained. We were. Allenberry's professional cast come from various venues - Broadway travel casts, cruise ships, other professional theaters. They put on consistently entertaining performances.

Last year I bought the top package for the theatre. It included 12 shows and buffet tickets. We saw three shows and they were good. The Christmas Show was a bit boring howwever. The lack of music and dancing was missed. The buffet was always good. Always a ton of food!

Learned about the Allenberry Murder Mystery Weekend located in Boiling Springs, PA by just surfing the web, and decided to check it out. It was absolutely fantastic!. The folks at Allenberry have been doing the murder mystery weekends for a while now. The area is in a quaint little town in Pennsylvania. It is just an hour away from where my husband and I live. We arrived at the resort around 3 pm on a Friday. The room accomodations were located in lodges on the property. The lodges were all different. There is the Pine Lodge, Meadow Lodge, and the Stone Lodge which is where we stayed. There are also cottages available. The actors were already in character when we checked in. There is a lot of guest participation throughout the entire weekend. The shows that were put on were great, the staff very attentive, and the food was awesome! This trip was like being on a cruise ship without the ship. We will definitely return to the Allenberry Playhouse Resort in the near future.

we became gold patrons last year; and have signed on for our second season. we've lived in boiling springs since 1999, and can't believe it took us this long to become members! the talented actors were a pleasant surprise; the food at the buffet is plentiful, but mediocre (with the exception of the sushi bar, which was fabulous!) eating in the breeches bar and grille was more relaxing and intimate, but, again, the food was so-so. the real treasure is the acting ensembles, and the terrific musicians!
