We stopped here after seeing Zooey Deschanel on "Who do you think you are". This museum commemorates the Christiana Uprising, a challenge to the Fugitive Slave Act, and major rallying point for Abolitionists that occurred on September 11, 1851 . Lincoln noted that this was a precursor to the civil war. A piece of American history that I was never aware of.The museum is a one room display with details of the uprising and the subsequent trials and aqiutals of the 38 people arrest for treason (by interfering with the return of runaway slaves, even though Pa. was a free state). Overall it was informative, although I wish there was an attendant as they had books and DVD's that were noted as available, but could not be purchased. This is one of the few sites from the underground railroad that remains.

This place was difficult to find. Once we discovered the place it was so disappointing. No one was present to answer questions. All memorabelia was in a display case and it smelled horrific inside. I would not drive to this little out of the way place for anything.
