above & beyond ballooning

My grand daughter, daughter, and I rode with Jon on Oct 3, 2014, the day before the balloon fiesta. It was a perfect, long ride, we drifted from NW Albuquerque, over the Rio Grand, over downtown, west of the airport and landed south of the airport. An amazingly long ride, about 70-75 minutes. Jon is such a good pilot we had no worries about anything. Don't miss a chance to ride with Jon, except in 2 years when my nest grandson will be ready!

You can clearly tell - Jon loves what he does!! He took us in his hot air balloon at the NJ Hot Balloon this July 2014. Ours was the biggest and the highest ride!! Thanx to Jon!! He made our trip extra special by pointing out interesting scenery which we would have missed if not for him. We had our 10 year old son with Down syndrome who cried most of the flight but Jon reassured us that it was fine and ensured the flight was as comfortable as possible. He dropped down near the highest tree and let my kids touch the top branches and they were thrilled to bits. He is extremely articulate and very very knowledgeable with information which he constantly shared with us along our ride just like an airline pilot does on a commercial flight. Thank you Jon and Team for a very memorable flight.

THANK YOU!!!!!! Jon and his crew are knowledgeble, fun, and professional!!! Jon helped make our special day PERFECT! My boyfriend (now fiance) planned to pop the question in the air! Jon even cordinated with my fiance to capture the engagement moment on my fiance's phone! We enjoyed our ride and interacting with Jon so much, that we even spent 2 hours after landing celebrating with champagne!!! I was pleasantly surprised by my now fiance with a hot air balloon ride on a recent trip to New York. Traveling from Australia, I was a bit sceptical about leaving the usual popular NYC tourist sites for an early morning taxi ride to Solberg airport, New Jersey - but it was completely worth every minute and more. Although, being the first flight of the season (in this particular area), the weather was a tad cold! - but our pilot Jon kindly offered his jacket to me which I gladly accepted and appreciated. The flight was peaceful, beautiful and something I will remember for a very, very long time - and not just because my boyfriend proposed! We were lucky to experience flying above the clouds which is absolutely breathtaking and a fun splash and dash in a pond nearby. Jon's exceptional flying skills and depth of knowledge of the areas we floated past were second to none and his love for his sport and profession put at ease the small amount of fear in my fiancé's mind! After flying for about 1 hour, we landed very safely in a beautiful neighbourhood and were met with the ground crew and local neighbours all eager to help pack the balloon into the van. The drive back to Solberg airport was just as beautiful - and not something you would be able to experience by just staying in NYC. Jon's hospitality didn't end here. Cold champagne was waiting back at the airport and then we went to a local diner for some much needed breakfast. He even helped us get back to a train station so we could get back to NYC.I am a huge fan of New York and would go back again and again, but I would highly recommend this adventure to anyone wanting to experience something a little bit different to the traditional New York tourist sites.
