that gourds could be used in so many ways! I was truly amazed and bought one as a Birdhouse. Bring the kids to witness the creativity! I will return because I am pretty sure there will be newer ideas, with time.

I have been here multiple times and always buy several as gifts.These are beautifully finished gourds that are containers or my favorite... birdhouses! Painted in different designs that can be seasonal or nature inspired. Everyone has enjoyed getting a gift from here!!! Looks like they also offer classes but I have not attended any. You will be impressed!!!

My wife and I had been wanting to stop here for some time and we are glad we did. They have a huge selection of finished and unfinished gourds for sale. They have from small to very large and many different shapes. My wife picked out a beautiful hand painted gourd bird house for a very reasonable price. My friends and I visited Smucker's Gourd Farm on a recent tour of the Amish Country. This was one of our favorite stops. You drive right onto the family farm, past the field of gourds, to the back of their house where they keep the gourds in a large barn. I asked a couple of questions, and the "man of the house" (can't remember his name) was full of information. We didn't meet any of the other family members, but he told us about his family and the business of growing and selling gourds. The painted gourds come in every shape and size, from Christmas ornaments to birdhouses. We lugged our bags of gourds onto the airplane to get them home. Oh - and I didn't mention how much we enjoyed the drive from Lancaster to the gourd farm. It was a trip thru the Amish countryside, and we loved it!

The gourds are all sizes, dried and made into interesting bird houses. There were also tree decorations made from gourds. You can buy a finished gourd or one that is ready for you to decorate in your own style.

Whenever I visit the Lancaster area, a trip to Smucker's Gourd Farm is on the list of things to do. The workmanship of the items for sale are something for everyone to enjoy. The farm has much more than finished products made from gourds. There are home-made items such as jellys, jams and other food items, as well as other handmade things to treasure. The most fun is when the have the annual Gourd Festival when exhibitors come from all over and they have classes/demonstrations at the event. Take time to visit and I am sure you will want to go back again.
