Wonderful place. Great for the community. helmed by a kind, caring, wonderful man. Festa Italiana is highly anticipated by parishioners and non-parishioners,alike.

It is a very historic church with imported Italian Marble--It makes you feel like you are transported to another country--it may seem a bit cold due to the amount of marble and architecture. It is a favorite of many. many church goers.

A beautiful church built by hands of Italian Immigrants from the remains of the Mellon Mansion. Filled with brass, bronze, marble, and gold. It is a baroque and Romanesque style that brings the visitor to another place and anther era. The ceiling is covered in gold tile like that of Saint Mary Major in Rome and the altar is modeled after that in St. Peters Basilica. The baldachino over the altar is one that truly deserves an award. The entire church is steeped with history and it is a great place to stop off and visit if you are near, there are daily masses and weekend has and confessions. A historic gem in a small town -- also tied to the old mob from the days when New Kensington was known as Little Chicago when the town was run by the Mannarino family. They are also known for the famous Festa Italiana where thousands of meatballs and hundreds of gallons of sauce as well as pounds of lasagna (all home made of course) fill the stomachs of everyone in the valley.
