One of our favorite state parks and close to where we live. Beautiful surroundings, clean, small, quiet. But staying by the reservoir one year with the water really loud, I thought would be annoying, but it wasn't! I recommend it for a relaxing nights sleep.

My husband and I were staying at nearby Bald Eagle State Park and decided to take a drive towards the Pine Creek Gorge. We detoured and followed signs to this park. What a gorgeous place! Camping, fishing, gun range, bow range, and one of the best trails I have yet to hike. We took Panther Run Trail (be warned: not for those who are not fit!) and had the most gorgeous view from the top. We ended up spending the whole day there hiking and exploring. The Rangers were super friendly also! Heard the Bald Eagles calling from their nest. Loved it.

We decided to try camping at Little Pine State Park after more than one friend recommended it to us. It was easy to find and the ranger at the check-in station was very helpful and friendly. Our campsite was right on the creek and the sound of the water was very relaxing. The scenery is really beautiful and well-maintained. There are sites to accommodate all sizes of campers and tents, although there are no full hook-ups – just electric. There are a few cabins and yurts also available. This was definitely the quietest campground we’ve visited in the past few years. We were able to sleep with our windows open, which is rare for us because we are light sleepers. Everyone we met was courteous, including staff. Also, the restrooms were very clean and there were enough shower and bathroom stalls to accommodate the number of weekend campers. The beach and picnic area is very nice, although the beach itself is pretty small compared to other state parks. There were many varying degrees of hiking trails, and the dam that sits above the campground provided beautiful views. We would definitely stay at this campground again.
