Great family park. Something for everyone. Coasters, mild rides, kids rids, shows. Beautiful landscaping and the best fries from the potato patch!!

Summertime in Pittsburgh. For families, couples, kids, anyone who enjoys a good time, Kennywood is a true Pittsburgh experience. Roller coasters are tops, and there are great experiences for all. Kiddie land for the toddlers and very young is a must for the under 8 crowd. French fries are tops. Great water rides. People-watching is world class, not full of supermodels, but lots of interesting people wearing very interesting clothing. Many a young couple had first dates at Kennywood. After 8 the crowds thin, the temperature cools, and the lights dazzle.

I have traveled to Kennywood Park several times. It is a classic amustment park in that it has old fashioned rides as well as state of the art coasters. A must ride is the Thunderbolt coaster old fashioned wooden coaster that gives you quite a ride, great Potato Patch fries (with gravy), fun games and all around family experience. A must if you visit Pittsburgh.

Kennywood can be a fun place to visit...it can be even more fun if you know these tips! Save money by purchasing your tickets in advance at the local grocery store, Giant Eagle. There are 2 options for parking : closer ($ 5-10) and free. Remember if you plan on being there all day, at the end of the day the closer car is a welcome sight. Arrive as soon as the park opens for the lowest volume of visitors and hit the roller coasters first. There are height restrictions for some of the rides. Although Kennywood serves food and even has a sit down restaurant, there are a few fast food restaurants close by if you want to leave the park and return. For those of you with little ones there is Kiddie Land located in the park. It seems to be the most fun for kids 6 and younger. It is even equipped with tiny potties and family restrooms.

When i went to kennywood with my daughter and her friend we went to get cool drinks at the make your own slushie machine. The slushie was all liquid and tasted badly. trying to return the drinks was impossible. food is not healthy. It is a teenager hangout. Rides are fun. Be careful on the water rides. You get really wet. Avoid the older rides. too uncomfortable and run down.

Kennywood Park is a really good park to take your family to. They plenty of rides and attractions to suit everyone's needs. The food is good. The prices are reasonable for food, merchandise etc. The variety of rides they have are comparable to most other amusement parks. I suggest you get there before the park opens and give yourself plenty of time to see and do everything.

I've been going here since I was a little kid. You can ride all day for about $26. It has roller coasters, water rides, bumper cars, etc. A wide variety of delicious food, my favorite being the boardwalk fries. Also has dedicated children's section for the tots. Goo to Kennywood....you wull love it!

This was our annual visit for the lights. Summer is always nice, but the lights add a whole different level to Kennywood's magic. The crowds weren't bad so the lines were decent. The night was cold, but clear & dry. Get the refillable mug-- it's the best deal going for 99cent refills. Be sure to watch the light show around the lake every half hour! Grab a quick snack (yes, Potato Patch fries!) and keep looking around-- there are lights everywhere. If you buy the 2015 annual pass on-line now, you get into the Holiday Lights for this year-- another good deal.

Visiting with family for the first time during this time of the season. We arrive before they opened and got in line. Entered the park and headed straight towards Ghostwood Estates. The outside was decorated nicely. We were the first riders of the night. The pre-show was replaced with two of Santa's elves. The ride itself wasn't much different than usual other than some Christmas decorations on the props. They could have really gone out and made it really great (kind of like what Disney does to the Haunted Mansion at Christmas) but this is Kennywood. After riding this we went straight for the Gingerbread Express (train). Our train did not have any music playing and the displays were ok nothing great. The best part is the turnaround area where they had a ginger bread land. Later in the evening both these rides had huge wait times so if you plan on going get there early and ride these first. The rest of the park is decorated well and there are a few rides running but again at the evening grows so does the lines. The best part was the light show around the lake and the petting zoo in Kiddle land. There is a Santa Claus located at the Racer Coaster platform but the line was long. Cost for this event was $16.99 a person (3 and over). You can get discounts I believe of $4.00 a ticket at Giant Eagle. Overall we had a fun night.

We took a large group on bogo 1/2 day. The park was crowded but laid off well with plenty of shade and seating. They have a ride that splashes a large wave of water on the crowd. Great way to cool down.

rice compared to others amusement parks is very good, especially their evening plan. Several very unique rides like Noah's Ark, Deadwood Estates, Thunderbolt. A great smooth steel coaster in Phantom's Revenge. A ice cream dessert that used to be prevalent on the East Coast at New Jersey Beaches and at fairs, but that I had not seen in over 20 years, a Walk Away Sundae. A vanilla ice cream dipped in chocolate and rolled in peanuts. Only leacking thing are the lunch/dinner items, there are much better dining options in Pittsburgh area.

Kennywood is a great classic park...It has been around for years and is family owned.. It offers modern rides and classic favorites..There is not a high priced admission charge for entry...It does get croweded in the summer so lines can be long...Kennywood has pretty good choices for dining and snacks....The live shows were very well structured and kept my attention....if you want to see and do everything the park has to offer I suggest spending the weekend...The ride attendents and staff are very friendly...There are some parts of the park that can use a little updating, but some guests prefer that old fashioned feel...I did enjoy the thrill rides & the classic train was nice...There was plenty of shaded areas to sit down also to get out of the heat....If I lived closer i would probably purchase a season pass, it is worth the money....

The last time I visited Kennywood it was August. Every year our company has a picnic there. The whole time I was growing up our schools had picnics there. It is a truly unique amusement park. Instead of a big slab of concrete with rides lining everything to old-fashioned park that you just don't see anymore. Yet some of the best roller coasters in the world are there. My favorite is a really old one called the Thunderbolt. It has been noted many times in reviews by roller coaster enthusiastic publications. In my opinion, the only bad ride is Garfield's Adventure. Maybe it's okay for young children. They have wonderful Fright Nights just before & through Halloween. I am no longer able to go to these though, because of the overabundance of smoke machines that they use. Ever since last years foray my lungs are more sensitive to chemicals.
