I visited this site as part of a tour and found it a beautiful site, well maintained and very clean. The exhibits in the visitor center were well designed and very informative. I particularly liked the outdoor display panel about the actual homestead building, informing visitors of various periods of construction.

We attended in March on Charter Day. We found a tour of the outside grounds that was just started and joined it. The guides were very insightful and educated us on the life in this rural estate. This was our 10th Charter Day location and did not disappoint with the site being open and having volunteers in costume showing life in the days of the location.Fees are not charged on Charter Day.

I have never been inside the buildings. It is a nice park to do photos in and walk or have a picnic. Not a real big park but nicely kept up.

No longer funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, this estate is still open for self guided tours of the exterior grounds. And several times a year re-enactors show us what life was like in Colonial America.
