My sister and I drove 40 min to see this art gallery and try a special wine and chocolate tasting. What a great experience we had, we started at the hip wine bar with a glass of wine that we took with us as we toured the art gallery which is much larger then it appears because there is a full basement of beautiful art to see and buy. When we returned to the wine bar a table was set up for us with wine and chocolate pairings, also some nuts and an extraordinary nosh plate. The wine and edibles were fabulous and the atmosphere of the wine bar was fantastic. The owner made sure to greet and sit with each customer to personally introduce the wine and food pairings . We had a fabulous time there and will definitely be back as there are often wine and music events. The wine store has a great selection of wines from all over the world and at all price ranges. They have a wonderful thing going here. Don't miss it!

The Petter Gallery is a wonderful place to browse. Well over fifty artists on display and a wide variety of media used. You can easily spend several hours viewing all of the works. The staff are very knowledgeable of the artists and their works. If you like art, you will enjoy this gallery.

We recently stopped into the gallery and to our joy, found that they had added on a wine gallery. The owner's daughter was there and was so helpful in choosing some fabulous wine. We were able to open the bottle there and take a small glass around while we looked at absolutely beautiful artwork. Make sure to schedule a few hours to peruse- there is so much to see. You must go for the experience.....!

Prepare to spend at least an hour if you enjoy viewing a variety of creative works. Don't miss the downstairs level...just follow the sound of the automatic piano! This is also listed on the internet as Button-Petter Gallery.

If you're visiting the Art Coast of Michigan (Saugatuck/Douglas), I'd definitely recommend the Joyce Petter Gallery on Blue Star Highway at the Bridge for its superb artwork surrounded by historical architectural elements. The gallery's site is a gloriously refurbished landmark building from the 1930s. Its meandering design pulls you enticingly through room after art-filled room, leading finally to an outdoors courtyard and then the rustic sculpture barn. The staff person there Wednesday, July 13, was most welcoming and informative to us. My husband and I will definitely stop in whenever we're in the area.
