michigan beach park

We enjoyed exploring Michigan Beach Park. Its' sand is quite white and it's small lighthouse is bright red. Many enjoy sunbathing there or strolling around. What I like the best is walking in the nearby woods, that paralleled to the beach. A nice view on the lighthouse can be seen further up on the white sand.

This park has an excellent sandy beach on Lake Michigan, right past the Pine River. Plenty of parking, though the lot can fill quickly on busy summer weekends. A decent playground, pavilion, bathrooms and basketball courts are available. New lighting and curbing. A wonderful pier is at the one end of the park, great for fishing, taking in the gorgeous views, or watching boat traffic. Water is shallow enough for the younger set. Hiking trails are nearby. This park is only a couple of blocks from downtown Charlevoix. Highly recommend.
