And that is that it's a small hill. Of course, nobody comes to Michigan mountains (read "hills") to dive head first into any sweet powpow, people come here to dip their toes. This is a great beginner's hill. It does have one of the highest vertical drops in southern Michigan, at 300 feet, and more lift chairs than they could possible need, which is great because you are pretty much always guaranteed no waiting in lift lines. Getting down is about as fast as getting back up, sometimes quicker. But like I said, you don't come here expecting great things. This is a fun little hill to warm for the season, which is what I did before I head out to Breckenridge, CO. Excellent hill for beginners as they offer ski school and personal trainers. Lift tickets are a bit expensive for such a small hill at about $42 for the day and rentals are $27 for the day. All in all, you can still expect to spend less than $100 with food and drink per person, so it makes for a decent, one-day trip. The people are fairly friendly and rarely check for lift tickets, but they do occasionally. To summarize: Fun for beginners, keep expectations low for anyone else.

If this is your first time skiing in the detroit área, this is the right place to go. I had my first skiing experience and i really enjoyed it. The bunny hill was not so crowded, so i had the opportunity to learn, take my time and descend. It was a great first experience.

I have been to Pine Knob numerous times, although my last trip was different. I took my fiance snowboarding for her first time on Valentine's Day. I reached out to the staff prior to our visit and requested setting up a few special touches. They went above and beyond to make this a great experience for us. Mary and Lorna are wonderful team members, they deserve praise for their high level of service. The conditions were great, and so was the food.

Went skiing for the day at Pine Knob. For being in the Detroit Metro area not a bad place. The runs are a little short. All the staff were very nice and the bar is not overpriced. They make a good "feels good" coffee.

The food was excellent. The chef made an excellent brisket that the guests raved about, the wedding reception was wonderful but would have been perfect if the place had a coat of paint and new carpet.

Pine Knob is hands down the best ski resort in southern Michigan! The hills are great and always well groomed. Management is continually updating the property. The staff is welcoming and we always get treated like family.

Overall it was fun, Loved the run "The Wall", staff was friendly although my rental snowboard was very poor. Lines weren't that bad either.

We go here several times during the winter season, because we live nearby. The magic carpet is great for very young and new skiers. Some of the other slopes are good enough for better skiers, but it will probably get old fairly quickly--especially if you ski as often as my family does. Plus, the snowboarders need to be somehow contained better! The food is awful and expensive. Pack your own if you can. Overall, it's a good time, and all 3 of my children learned to ski here. Now on to steeper and longer pastures...

Fun place to ski. Great instructors at the ski school. Great place for boarders too. Only wish they had a better restaurant (the cafeteria selections are worse than fast food), otherwise top notch fun for the family.

Profitable, accessible, safe, fun! Been going her for years, it's spawned the likes of Deer Creek in Indy, and Mountain View in San Fran. It's gotten a whole lot of my $$$ over the years, and I look back and smile just thinking about it! Go, the lawn is awesome if the weather is clear! I sure wish it was summer now!

Too far to walk from parking, very loud but not good music system, and a lack of entertainers that anone over 50 would know, lest enjoy.
