My all time favorite winery in Traverse. The school house winery is a must! Detention and Old School White are completely mind-blowing. Staff are fantastic too!

love this winery. The man behind the counter was very helpful and for the season of fall they have apple win with mulling spices in a crock pot. It's amazing!! Tastes like apple cider! Definitely recommend

Love this place. My husband and I have been going here for over 10 years at least. They offered a new red this year, Lemberger, which was delicious. The Dry Riesling was another of my favorites. I was sorry that Old Mission wineries now charges for tastings. That was one of the highlights of our past visits.

This charming winery, an old school, houses some of the best wines we had on our Lake Michigan Circle Tour. The decor was fun, with chalkboard messages throughout. The staff was super friendly, and we enjoyed the themed wine names (Detention, Homework, Old School.) I just wish more wines had fun names, as it's always a conversation starter.

Peninsula Cellars is a definite must stop if you are making the rounds of the Northern Michigan wineries. It is an old one-room schoolhouse that has been tastefully converted to a wine tasting and sales room. The wines all have names that reflect the schoolhouse theme; like "Homework" and "Detention" are just two examples, and two of my favorites. Costs to taste, and the wines themselves were among the most reasonable of all the wineries we visited. The young man that helped us was knowledgeable with the wines, even though it was his first day. Aparrently he had done his "Homework". I would give the winery and its staff an A+.

Charming place, but even better, they have some of the best wine - we bought about 20 bottles during our trip - typically one from each winery we visited, but we had to get two at this one. Friendly staff too.

What an exquisite experience! The staff were very friendly. This winery is in a small old schoolhouse. Will go back again for sure.!

Our favorite wine tasting spot. The old school house converted into a wine tasting room is perfect for them. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere quite nice.

Peninsula Cellars never disappoints. We stop by each year while visiting Traverse City & Mission Point Peninsula to purchase our favorites and we're always delighted to see new options to try. My absolute favorite is Old School Red. It's a great table wine perfect with any meal or any occasion. I stock up every year and can't wait to go back and get more!

The staff were very friendly even though we came in 5 minutes before closing time. They didn't try to rush us out. They even let more people in right at and after closing time. It was also cool that the building was an old one room school house and some of the wines offered had names like "Detention" and "Homework"

This was the first stop of the 7 wineries we toured on Old Mission Peninsula and one of our favorites. VERY reasonable tasting fee & a really neat setting - old one-room schoolhouse! Of all the places we visited, this was the one place I felt the most comfortable and least rushed. Very homey atmosphere with pleasant & welcoming staff. Many wines to choose from, but really liked Homework & Detention (the wines that is!)!! Easy stop - right off Center Rd. I will be stopping her again, if anything to replenish my stock of wine.

This is a pretty little winery in a cool setting - an old school house. The staff was pleasant and the wines quite good. I recommend the dry whites, especially the excellent Pinot Blanc.

For only $2.50, you can enjoy a taste of several wines that Peninsula Cellars has to offer. If you are a sweet wine connoisseur, I would suggest the Homework wine! It's my personal favorite. However, drinking a glass of wine for $8.00 plus a complementary wine glass on the porch of a refurbished old one room school house in the middle of the Old Mission Peninsula is something to enjoy.

The building an architecture is nice. The wine to me is just ok. There are better wineries with better tasting wines and better views IMO.

First time visiting - Tom was awesome! Because of him giving us personal attention (due to snowy weather we were alone in the winery) we will definitely be back! I enjoyed all the whites and the sweet red choices (Homework!) were very good as well. My husband enjoyed the red selections. Good cherry wine as well! Catchy names for the wines with the schoolhouse theme in keeping with the decor. Just a great time!
