It isn't fancy, but the cabins are always clean. The owners are friendly and accommodating. Our family has been renting here for at least 15 years and we rent all the cabins. As long as the weather is decent the lake is great. Do be aware of getting swimmers itch, especially if you have little ones. This year was one of our best, since the weather was fantastic. Upper 70's and 84 on Friday, our last day. As long as you don't go expecting a fancy resort, you and your family will have a great time here.

Not fancy but cozy, clean and comfortable. We stayed in Cleveland Place. A very short, easy walk to the beach with a great yard covered in trees that the kids where the kids loved to run around. Having access to the paddle boat, canoes and kayaks was great!

We stayed at the Lakefront Cottage, and I highly recommend it!! I don't think we would have had as good a time in any of the other cottages. I loved being right on the water. I recommend bringing or renting a boat with it. The cottage was very clean but maybe a little too cozy for some. We had 6 people here for the week and we did fine. Again, spend the little bit extra and rent the Lakefront. Well worth the little extra money!!

We just returned from a week at the lake front cottage. The cottage was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed...even a crock pot which came in handy! The only thing you need to bring are sheets and towels. The bedrooms are small but the beds are comfortable. The pull-out trundle in the livingroom was perfect for the kids. The view of the lake is absolutely beautiful. I could sit and look at that lake all day and never get bored. The lake is clean. IT was a very relaxing week for us and we're definitely planning on going back next year. The owners were wonderful to work with. This is a great little vacation spot...nothing fancy...just a comfortable, kind of rustic cottage on the lake...just what we were looking for!!Two thumbs up!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

In June we rented 6 cabins at JR Resort we had 33 of us up there we just loved it. The mattresses where really comfortable in everyones cabin they where all clean and all you had to bring where sheets and towels. They had everything there we needed. Yes some rooms are small but they are cabins not luxury resort hotels. They where VERY clean. The owners are fantastic they worked with us to get us all there and comfortable settled. WE all hope we get to go back next year we are planning on it as of now. I can not say enough about the whole week it was a great week!

I've never actually stayed at this resort, but it's on the same street as my families cottage. The location couldn't be better. The resort is also right next to a park, and has a beach in front. Only lake front homes have private beach access, so that is a big perk for visitors.

We stayed at JR Resort in July, 2008. It is not a resort at all, but several cottages at Higgins Lake. The lakefront cottage not only had exposed plumbing and electrical, the water heater was in the kitchen. The kitchen curtains were made of dish towels and the windows were bolted shut and therefore could not be opened. There was no yard and the front of the cottage was practically on the street. While the cottage is called lakefront, there is a road that separates the cottage from the lake. After spending two nights in the terribly small lakefront cottage, my son woke up with some type of bug bites all over his body. The other cottages (our family rented 3) were at least a block from the lake. The cottage by the duplex was so close to the other cottages, you could hear conversations in the adjacent cottages. The swimming area was small and populated not only by renters, but the owner's family and extended family. The lakefront cottage was bad enough that my family moved down the street and rented another cottage for the balance of the vacation (6 days, 5 nights).
