I may well regret reviewing this theatre and ruining the good thing I've got going here, but I am posting to let people know about a fantastic theater in Livonia, MI. It's well worth the drive for those who don't live near Livonia. First off, the interior of the theatre is nice (really nice actually) with comfortable, recliner style seating the allows you to stretch out and relax with your legs up and laying back. The aisles are perfect with enough room for people to walk by even in the fully reclined position. The cup holders are adequate, the arm rests can be raised to permit loveseat style seating, the seats are not confining, and the seats have single button, electronic movement. The screens and sound are terrific. Unlike other theaters, the experience warrants the price and the price is a bargain for the seating. The concession offers a lot to choose from, but the prices I think are higher than some other theaters. Bathrooms are clean and the temperatures of the theaters and lobby are comfortable. Friends I have taken are instantly sold, as am I, on the place. I haven't been to a packed theatre and other patrons have respected the moving going experience. I will be back, again and again, despite the distance I travel and the other theatres that I pass on my way there. Enjoy! See you at the movies in one of the nicest theatres I have ever been too. (I hope I didn’t just ruin it for those of us in the know about this place.) Parking is free.

Fully reclining seating. Great picture and sound. If your want to see a movie on the big screen this is the place... Truly better than home!

Love the new reclining chairs! They were so comfortable. Just like watching a movie in your couch at home! Also an Inexpensive theater!

I have never been so comfortable in a movie theater or anywhere else out side of our home. The prices are reasonable, especially going to a matinée. The concession stand was a little more expensive than local competitors but still reasonable. We enjoyed our stay and even though it's a bit far from our house, we'll return to this theater. The Phenoix theater we went to, was located in Wayne, Michigan. It's located in the old State Theater building sporting its original marquis. It's quaint but still modern. Hand painted murals decorate the hall ways. Over all, it's a great place for movies.

I almost hate writing this review because I am going to give away one of the best kept secrets in area move theaters. I went to the Phoenix on New Year's eve. The experience was very cool. First of all, they have put recliners in to each and every theater. Full blown recliners. You get to lay back, feet full up and enjoy the movie. I hope they are durable because I won't be going to any other theater in the region from this point forward unless they put in these seats. New carpeting, new reclining seats, the place is a hidden jewel. Then, to makethe evening ever more special, before the movie even started, the owner of Phoenix theaters (independent theaters) and yes, I said THE OWNER, got up in front of the theater before the show and wished everyone a happy new year and thanked them for their business throughout the year. Then invited them to enjoy the renovations, the new recliners and the shows. I wanted to work for this guy RIGHT THEN AND THERE. This was something right out of the good old American folklore book. BRAVO Mr. Phoenix. You mad the close of a cruddy 2014 and the entrance of 2015 very special.

We came for Black Friday and went to see a first run movie at this theater. Cost was only $4.25 since it was before noon. Like WOW. With a family of 5, I am use to spending at least $60. More money for popcorn but could not drink soda this early in the morning.

When I take my grandchildren to the movies, I prefer to go here. It's convenient to the shopping mall at Laurel Park which also has nice places to eat.

Phoenix is in the office building attached to the Laurel Park Mall. There are a lot of deals for admission to it on Groupon, etc. Getting two for the price of one admissions is possible and there are a ton of discounts. The design of the theater is twenty years old or so. It is not the latest style seating, but it is clean. The theater runs with a light staff and you can see that the owners are choosing to compete on price. Unless I am going to see sci-fi, or a blockbuster, where the sound system or super-high res matters, I'll go here before the competitor down the seat (who I like, but costs more) and pocket the difference.

Very clean and quiet. Really enjoyed the movie here. Excellent popcorn! Very safe area. Nice places to eat in Laurel Park Mall before or after the movie.

This is an older theater complex adjacent to a small mall. The theater we were in had a lot of space for your legs to stretch out, which was much appreciated. The seats themselves are not the most comfortable, but you are paying less than at other theaters. There is plenty of parking and restaurants in the mall where you can eat before or after the movies. Overall a decent choice for the movies.

I've never liked Phoenix theater. They need a lot of updates but... My husband and I decided that we would go and save $1 on each ticket, the seats didn't matter that much. We ate dinner and had drinks in the mall. We were about an hour early for the next show we wanted to see. We bought tickets, tried to sit down early but the concierge told us that the previous movie wasn't out yet. We waited an hour in the hallway just outside the theater. We went back in for the concierge to tell us that our movie was cancelled. CANCELLED?!?! then he says "yeah the manager told me right after you guys came in the first time." Will not be going back!

Time to go to stadium seating. But if they dont they at least need to put in some new chairs. However, I do like they dont charge for seasoning on popcorn.

Film was supposed to begin at 3:10PM; by 3:20 we were still being treated to the television ads that theaters like to run before the show. No issue with starting the previews at the stated time but not 10 extra minutes of ads.

This theater is small, located inside an office building off of a mall, but they have a good concession stand and great weekday/matinee prices. Very small theater spaces with some awkward seating but I would recommend this theater.

Phoenix often plays art flix that you can't find in other theaters in Livonia. Staff is friendly and courteous. Seating is comfortable and the temperature inside the theatre is comfortable as well. I prefer the MJR theatre in Westland, so this is my second choice. The AMC is way over-priced for concessions. I recommend Phoenix.
