Nice beaches, good fishing,n a all around nice place to take your kids to spend the day or a weekend!!!

We stayed at one of the primitive camp sites here July 3-7 (sites 116 & 117). We were very pleased with the sites and how they are laid out. It was our first time staying here and reading their description of a "vault" toilet we didn't know what to expect but they are in fact very nice outhouses. The lake swimming areas are very nice. We thought the lakes would be good for fishing but it seams there were no fish to be caught. Someone told us that they stopped stocking the lake but we really are not sure on that. Overall we had a wonderful time camping, swimming, boating and fishing. Also, we found we forgot a few items we needed for camp but right outside the entrance there is a Sunoco that has a good selection of most things you might need from food items to pool toys! We had to also visit here a few times just for ice. Also, the modern camp area is where the showers are located. It's a bit of a drive from the primitive site we stayed at but is worth it as they keep it nice and clean. Even the vault toilet area where we stayed had staff come clean it twice a day.

This is a wonderful campground with plenty of lots, both modern and rustic. The many miles of biking/hiking trails offer spectacular scenery. I have camped here several times and visit many times each year to Mountain bike and hike. The trails are also great for cross country skiing in the winter.

Rifle River Recreation Area is a wilderness located within the AuSable State Forest and provides a variety of recreational opportunities. Great park for wildlife watching, hiking, fishing and hunting. People come from all over to canoe, kayak, mountain Bike, swim and relax. They have rustic cabins that are rented by the day available also. As well as camping sites. And public showers. My friends love this place. It is a treasure for sure. A great place to bird watch.

My family and I used to come to this park every year maybe twice a year it never got old or boring tons to do and see and just plan relax we love this park. Modern and rustic camping and 3 lakes showers etc...
