While this is a nice distraction from the horse poop of Mackinac Island, its very average compared to larger facilities of this type like those at Niagra Falls Canada Parks and the Detroit Zoo.Pleasant staff, nice clean updated facility

We always visit the butterfly house when we are on the island. It is in walking distance from our bed and breakfast and we enjoy going past some of the gorgeous homes on our way. You can spend as much time as you like and watch the different butterflies. Kids would like it as well as mom and dad. They have a gift store if you want to take home a souvenir as a keepsake. Good value for the investment.

This attraction was a bit small but the content makes up for that! There are some really amazing things to see here and some great photo opportunities too! I loved seeing the Butterflies so close!

This is a great site. Be sure to see it as party of the carriage tour of the island. It's s half way stop and switch of carriages and makes a nice leg stretch. I don't think I would just go see the butterfly house.

It was an hour max. We had it included with our hotel so it was good and free.... The butterflies were cool but we are fortunate to have a similar exhibit at Milwaukee public museum. Good to visit and could fill time if the weather is not great

Loved it al. So many different butterfly's to see. I've been to many other exhibits but these butterfly's were very interactive with visitors.

We stopped in here while on the island. My favorite was the large white butterflies that almost looked like large birds flying about the greenhouse. Also the area you can see all the different butterfly cocoons that have had been hatched or just not yet, was very neat.

You get to sit in the large butterfly house as long as you want the butterflies are all over...if you are lucky they will land on you!

Spectacular experience. Walking with the butterflies landing on me and everything else in the chamber. Wonderful photography experience.

For such a tiny location the butterflies were beautiful and varied. The Atlas moth was a huge surprise. I'd never seen one before that wasn't mounted in a box.

What a treat to go to this place.. I had one land on my hand while I was taking a picture and from what I understand that is good luck.

I love sitting in the greenhouse with the butterflies all around me. It is so peaceful. The plants are incredible too. The staff is very knowledgeable and always nice and helpful (and patient with my little kids).

We have visited both butterfly houses and we really enjoy the Original Mackinac Island Butterfly House located close to St Anne's Church. You can stay as long as you like, which is great since it takes a while to fully appreciate all the beautiful butterflies.

Lots so beautiful butterflies. My kids enjoyed trying to identify all of the different types. Definitely a must see for kids on Mackinac Island!

If you have a 2 year old, they will love this place. Small, but the wonder of butterflies is great. Huge variety, and also enjoyed (and was freaked out by) the feeding of the giant cockroaches. I'll have nightmares about the little babies coming out of the soil by the hundreds to feed...
