When my wife and were deciding where to host our engagement party, rehearsal dinner and where she and her bridesmaid would get ready for our wedding there was no question as to the venue. The Phelps House in Carthage was the clear winner! My sister held her wedding reception there in 1999, my mother in law held her 50th birthday celebration there as well. The Phelps House is rich in tradition, detail, and provided the perfect backdrop for some of our wedding pictures...and for my sister's wedding as well. I have many memories in the Phelps House and I look forward to have more!

We have driven by this place so many times and have never stopped, but did one day. It is well cared for and very interesting

This is an amazing historic home that has been turned into a museum. After driving around town, looking at all of the amazing old homes, you will want to see what one looks like from the inside. It is definitely worth taking the tour (check their website to see what days/times tours are offered). Lunches are great, but are only available for groups and have to be arranged in advance.
