We have been fishing in the Roaring River for years. This is an amazingly beautiful part of God's creation that has been enhanced to make the fishing easier. A license and trout tag are required to fish. Whether you like to fish with corn, a fly, or anything in between there is opportunity for you to catch fish here. The water is usually very clear and the river is usually full of trout. That doesn't necessarily mean that they will be willing to bite...that part is up to you. But there are plenty of quality fish to try for. The hatchery is a neat place to visit, too. All of the fish stocked at Roaring River are raised here. Be sure to visit the spring where the river starts and feeds the brood pond where trophy sized trout are raised as mommies and daddies for future fish fries. There is camping available as well as hiking trails. Be sure to understand the regulations before fishing, they might be different that what you are expecting.

I try to stop by this state park every time I am in this part of Missouri. It is a great place to take people new to the Ozarks. The trout ponds and playing in Roaring River are my favorite activities. You can check out their website at http://mostateparks.com/park/roaring-river-state-park. They have fishing, camping (tents to RVs), cabins, swimming, dining, hiking, interpretive center, special use areas and picnicking areas.

We rented a cabin from the state park and were situated right above the trout hatcheries. Very peaceful, no cell phone service, no internet, limited TV ... just right for a honeymoon getaway! Our only complaint was that on 2 different occasions, maintenance men just opened the door and walked into our cabin! Both were as startled as we were ... and both were very apologetic, but the communication on which cabin is rented and which is empty needs to be a bit more accurate! We were on our honeymoon! LOL Overall ... very lovely, though dated and worn ... the place was relaxing and super closet to the trout fishing. We loved the week we spent there hiking and exploring the beauty of the Ozarks.

Roaring River State Park in Cassville, Missouri is a wonderful spot to catch your breath and see some Ozarks scenery. Clear blue green spring, plenty of trout to count or catch!

We went there mainly to look for birds, but the park itself is really beautiful and clean. Most visitors seem to go there for the fishing, but if you avoid the most popular streams, the place is not overcrowded.

Roaring River State Park is a popular southwest Missouri attraction. The campgrounds are beautiful next to the trout stream. The park has a family atmosphere.

Love coming here and fishing, everyone can catch a fish here, no need to be an experienced fisherman.

Very peaceful and relaxing place and cool down by the river on the hottest days! Frequently picnic there and enjoy the hatchery, scenery and trout! There's even watercress in the river, but beware.....there's also quicksand.!

Zone 2 the catch and release only zone is not marked except in the not much fished area in the camping area of the park but well paroled by fish and wild life!

When I lived in the Eureka Springs area I visited this beautiful place several times. It was a nice place to go have a picnic, check out the fish hatchery, walk, and just enjoy nature, and free of charge to park. There is also fishing for those who enjoy that. I highly recommend this spot for all nature lovers such as myself. It can get a bit crowded during peak tourist season, so I would always go during "off" times to avoid the crowds.

A really great place to fish and to watch the fish in various stages of their lives. Great place to have a picnic and feed the fish.

I want to rate this park really high but just can't. All reviewed below is true...plenty of trout and an amazing river. The bad...folks are fishing shoulder to shoulder, literally. Forget using a fly rod. We went across highway "F" and found a less crowded area to fish. Still caught fish but this is as close to baiting and poaching that I ever want to experience. I think it is something we're glad we tried but won't be back (for fishing, anyway.) The day trip to Eureka Springs is easy and fun.

I hiked several of the trails around Roaring River State Park. Also visited the Hatchery. Camping, cabins, and fishing are also available here. Most of the visitors are there for the fishing. The trails are easy to moderate and very scenic. I have visited in both the spring and the fall. The trails are particularly nice in the fall when the leaves are turning. Hiking in the park is free. There are fees for camping and fishing.

This is a great park. The campgrounds are clean and shady. There is plenty of room to maneuver your RV. It is a quiet park that is located in a deep valley along the river. There are several nice hiking trails as well as a trout hatchery. The crown jewel of the park is the excellent rainbow trout fishing. The leaves in the fall are breath taking. We will go again.
