We visited the butterfly house on the recommendation of a co-worker. It was so cool to be literally surrounded by butterflies. They were beautiful.

My husband and I chose to go here as part of our date yesterday and were please to discover that we got to see far more than we thought since it was March Morpho Mania. I loved seeing all of the pretty blue butterflies and we even got a free postcard out of the trip!

we stopped there today with my 5 year old little friend for March Morpho Mania event. I've always wanted to visit this attraction while in the St. Louis area. It was in a nice park with plenty of room to walk outside around the lake, swing, etc. There is an old historical carousel housed there from the old amusement park by the zoo. It had snowed the night before, so we only went to the butterfly house, but on a nicer day, you could spend more time in the botanical gardens surrounding the butterfly building. Movie on life cycle of the butterfly, interaction room of activity for kids, tropical conservatory full of butterflies and plants, areas to sit, observe, photograph. Gift shop. We were glad we took and hour and a half to see it before we began our snowy drive home

This was our third trip to the butterfly house my daughter loves going and checking out the thousands of butterfly in the atrium. It is really humid and warm be prepared for that. Many educational things about spiders, and other insects life cycles.

This is a wonderful place to visit. The butterflies are beautiful and the educational film is perfect.

It is an entertaining and educational experience for young and old alike. There are many, many butterflies flying about. Although you are not allowed to touch them, they often land on you and will stay there for a few moments. Some small children may be frightened when one first lands on them because the butterflies can be large. Be sure to bring a camera.

We are St. Louis natives but have relocated several times in the past 10 years. When we come back in the summer/fall for baseball games, we always visit this place. It is "take your breath away" beautiful every time.

I love butterflies. My husband took our two children and I here and I loved it! The main attraction is the butterfly house, which is 80 degrees and filled with tropical butterflies EVERYWHERE! It is well done with beautiful varieties of butterflies and plants. There is a little stream and places to sit awhile. We also watched the short film, which I enjoyed. One other cool thing is that they employee a man with disabilities. His chair is set up where he can explain the things you are looking at to you. This was great. He and the other employees were all helpful, kind and knowledgeable. There is a playground and carousel house right on the same property too. Worth the visit.

There was a special children's day on the Saturday our family visited with our two very young grandchildren. There were art activities, a steel drum band, photo booth, free popcorn, and of course the butterflies. It was pretty crowded due to the special day but the staff was very friendly and welcoming. A very nice experience. I believe a membership at the St. Louis zoo or Botanic Gardens is reciprocal with this attraction. A large indoor carousel is in a nearby building although we didn't stop there this time.

I've been to several butterfly houses in various parts of the world. Some butterfly houses are kind of creepy. I'm not a big fan of insects so I'm not sure why I go to these. That said, this is a very nice butterfly house. If you like butterflies, you'll find Sachs Butterfly House one of the best. It's lovely. It's clean. The docents are quite eager to please and love to share their knowledge. While visiting Faust Park and the Butterfly House be sure to ride the St. Louis Carousel. It's even better than butterflies!

Love the butterfly house. I went here as a kid and now get to take my girls here. We always have a good experience here.

Nice place to visit with people from out of town. Short movie, good parking and it is just an amazing place to bring people both young and old

Nice and relaxing place to take the entire family. Young or old everyone can have a good time. Parking is free. The cost to get in is minimal. Watch the show. It's free and very informative plus it is short so the kids stay interested for the 15 minutes that it plays. The butterfly house itself is stunning and has butterfly's every where! Me and my husband went alone but we plan on going back and taking the kids next time around.

I visited the butterfly house with my 9 month old daughter and 6 year old godson. This was a special event that ran every Tuesday from 430-7ish in October where the wild bird sanctuary brings in owls for the kids to see in the evening and the butterfly house is full of beautiful owl butterfly's and orchids to celebrate Halloween/fall. We arrived early and played at the playground in faust park (which is just a few steps away from the butterfly house within the park). The playground equipment was great and the bathrooms were clean. When the butterfly house reopened for the evening hours The butterfly's were beautiful and it was amazing to see them swarming and so active at night. The Owls were cool for the kids to see up close. We love the butterfly house on normal days but it was a treat to see the owl butterfly's and owls for a fun fall evening out.

There's always a good rotating display in addition to the butterflies. Watch where you walk, many hover near the ground. It warm and humid inside, so dress accordingly. Be sure to stop and watch the window full of chrysalises, as there will probably be some butterflies ready to emerge. The gift shop is a fun place to browse and a great place for stocking stuffers, particularly for the insect lover.
