Crown Pointe was designed in 1993 by Gary Kern and is located an hour away...

Picked a sunny day on October to play there the first time. Course layout is nice w/o any 'goofy' holes. Only odd hole was #11 as the tee looks to be offset from the green. The hole is straight, but a straight tee shot will go thru the fairway on the left side. Awkward, maybe by design..Links style course, Hole #9 & #18 are challenging in length...I would not like to play them into the wind!Course was in great shape and the staff was really friendly. A real value for the play all day rate.Gonna head back down next time the weather and work schedule accommodate.

We didn't golf, yet we did use the clubhouse for an amazing Rehearsal Dinner. We couldn't have been happier with the food quality, bar service and help of the event coordinator. I would definitely encourage any party needing a banquet facility to consider this location.

Had a really good time on a weekend golf outing with 16 friends. Booked to stay Friday and Saturday night at the Crown Pointe Lodge next door, with unlimited golf for Friday and Saturday. Got a great rate of $209 total. You also got a ticket for free lunch each day which included a cheeseburger or hot dog with chips and a drink. Also gave us a ticket for a free Crown Valley local microbrew which they have on tap in the '19th Hole' - their bar and grill.Course was nice, yet challenging. Rough is incredibly thick and if you hit one in the rough, good luck finding your ball. The biggest disappointment were the bunkers. There are huge bunkers on every hole - deep and big, and they are filled with the southern Missouri red clay / mud. And with the recent rain, most were filled with water. If you hit one in there, you might not find your ball because it would be under water. They really need to fill these things with sand. Other than that, it was a fun course to play and in pretty good shape. We're planning on coming back next year to do it again.

I've played it occasionally since it first opened and watched it mature nicely. Generally it's in good to very good shape. Was there last weekend and only three details kept me from rating it "very good."The good points: lots of sand and water on the course, and some nicely challenging fairways and greens. (I played Pinehurst #3 two weeks before and this had more hazards.)The bad points: some sand bunkers seemed forgotten, especially on 9 around the green -- totally under repair -- and a couple others where lining gravel was visible. AND they were hard; groundskeepers need to maintain them. One fairway on the back 9 had long strips of sod removed, creating a different type of hazard! Finally, the difference between online fees and clubhouse fees are aggravating -- be sure to get on the mailing list and check -- and reserve -- tee times online and save half the cost.Oh, and what another reviewer said about the restaurant -- it is beautiful, and once upon a time it was used, but last I heard it is only used for special occasions. Too bad, a great view and pretty furnishings. Now there's just the grill located off the pro shop on the ground floor.Overall, worth a visit, and I'll go back.

The golf course is quite challenging, especially if you favor the rough-it is thick and hard to hit out of. The restaurant is tucked in the basement. It's a shame that the main floor doesn't house the restaurant so customers can enjoy the view.

I am not a golfer but friends who are seem to enjoy the course. My experience has been with the restuarant which is good when it is open but it has been my experience that it is opened and closed on and off again. There seems to be a problem with keeping shefs.

I am a former member of Crown Pointe (formerly Eagle Lake Golf Club) and the former Club Professional. I am intimately familiar with the course. The course is generally in good condition, but the rough can get out of hand during the spring. The courses biggest defense is its big greens, and the wind. Very few trees on this course make for windy conditions usually. The only course in Southeast Missouri that may be better than Crown Pointe is Bent Creek in Jackson, MO. The course is 18 holes, just over 7000 yds from the back tees and about 6850 from the Mens. There are five sets of tees to pick your distance. If I had to complain about anything on the course it would be 1) the pace of play is usually brutally slow on summer weekends because they will not hire marshals. and 2) the bunkers are not the best. But, I would still give this course an 8/10.
